1. Panova (6)
May be a mile better than these. Looked awesome swamping them to win the SA Oaks and this looks a little easier. Expect a very bold showing.

2. Single Red (21)
During autumn, she proved to be one of New Zealand’s best just behind Ohope Wins for example. If that filly were in this, she’d be a $1.60 fav. Did lead and fought on well when 4th in the Gr 2 The Roses in slow time. That suggests she just didn’t sprint really fast late, rather than getting tired. If the pace is on and she sits behind the speed, she may prove hard to beat.

3. Fireball Miss (18)
Her improvement curve strongly suggests she might be a real star in the making. Sat off speed and just outsprinted many of these to comfortably win The Roses last start over 2000m. That was her 6th start and she clearly is getting better with racing and distance. Rates very highly.

Ready to Fire
4. Paltrow Miss (22)
Another one who continues to improve every run. She has been freshened since her strong 3rd in Gr 1 Australasian Oaks last start behind Panova. Sure to be ready for this.

5. Silvasista (10)
Won the St Leger in good style then took on the lads in the Gr 1 SA Derby 2500m and plodded around in 10th. This is probably a length or two easier and is very fit. Can run on.

Good on Soft
6. Soverato (8)
Is developing into a really good stayer. Ran consistently well in the Sydney autumn stakes races, then freshened and returned with a good effort, beaten just on 2 lengths in The Roses. Came from 15th on bend. Sneaky place show here.

Ready to Fire
7. Grand Omaha (17)
Well-travelled, mature, tough filly. Raced in 3 different states at past 4 starts. Courageous 3rd in The Roses last start behind Fireball Miss. Certain to be in the fray all the way.

8. Chispa (20)
Determined type with talent. All form was at midweek level and was good, so was dropped into the deep end last start in the Gr 2 The Roses. And she ran lights out finishing an impressive 2nd. So, is up to this and can stay. Has claims.

9. Fringes (16)
Is dour and looks like she can run all day. Has won past two, latest at stakes level in Adelaide. That was 2538m and her last 600m was quick, given it was wet. Place threat.

10. Solid Gold (4)
Seems to be a very tough filly. Raced with distinction in NZ before coming here and whacking away boldly into 5th last start in the Gr 1 Derby over 2400m. Drawn well, sits about 5th with cover, and that makes her a threat.

11. Parvenu (7)
Won a BM 70 Caulfield 1800m in good style, then ventured north and solid 5th in The Roses. Seems to handle the jump in grade and drawn to get a cosy run. Rough place show.

12. Zuleika (9)
Was runner-up in Tasmania Oaks. Mixes racing style a fair bit. For instance, pretty much led all the way over 2000m in weaker race at Doomben, then was 14th for home last start when 8th in The Roses, doing best work late. This is tougher.

Good on Soft
13. Norty Forty (14)
Interesting as she will inject speed into the contest. Won past two being in front most of the way, in easier staying races. Probably wilts when they turn but does like it wet.

Good on Soft
14. Panda's Spectrum (23)
Another who likes to be on speed and will have to go very hard early from this gate to be there. That ensures a solid tempo. Was 3rd, run over late, in the SA Classic by Fringes last start. This looks too hard.
-
Good on Soft
15. Highgrove Rose (19)
Carried no weight when a plodding 2nd in a BM 78 at Doomben last start. This looks simply too strong. Gate no help either.
-
Good on Soft
16. Tarntanya (12)
Looks tested. Went from easy provincial races in Vic to stakes event at Doomben in the The Roses last start. Carried more weight than she has ever carried that day, over a trip she has never contested before, on a track she had never seen and was beaten 5 lengths. This may be too soon, but she has a bit of ability.

17. Sheeza Diva (5)
Not racing well enough to trouble these. Was beaten 10 lengths when 9th in Gr 1 VRC Oaks last year.

18. Crathie Kirk (11)
Won two bush races in nice manner then thrashed when introduced to stakes level last start in The Roses. Not keen.

19. Kickuphigh (Em1) (15)
Getting beaten in bush races and this will be too strong. Bad draw too.

20. Polo (Em2) (1)
Looked good ploughing through the mud in a weak Class 1 at Hawkesbury last start winning over a mile. Not keen in this race though.

Good on Soft
21. Pink Vixen (Em3) (2)
Missed a place at past 3 runs, all on out-of-town tracks. Not likely here.

22. Sunsprite (Em4) (13)
Probably doesn’t gain a start but is certainly not the roughest. Can run home and looks like a stayer in the making. Placed at Randwick on a Saturday last start over 1800m. This is hard but she has talent.

23. Angel City (Em5) (3)
Handy filly, who is in form and can run a bit. Was 2nd in that race at Randwick where Sunsprite was 3rd. Probably doesn’t gain a start here but not the roughest.
