- Moonee valley - Race 9
- (1000m)
- September 7, 2024
1. I Wish I Win (5)
He is the best sprinter in the land. Will be in this finish as he always is. Can he give the Golden Slipper winner 8.5kg though? That’s the big question. But, he is going to finish top 2 either way because he is simply that good.

Proven Winner
2. Mornington Glory (1)
Loves this track having won 3 of 4 starts here latest over 1000m last run when he powered late to claim the Carlyon in good time. This is harder but is in peak and career best form and will be on the fence in about 3rd to the turn. Place show.

3. Johnny Rocker (3)
Some horses just grow a leg on the Valley’s strathayr surface and this bloke is one of them. After easily winning a low-key BM 78 here this trip last prep, he stepped out and ran 2nd in the Gr 1 William Reid behind Imperatriz at $101. Form after that was average. Resumes here and on paper should get easily beaten, but that love of this track could see him sneak a place.

Track Talent
4. Caballus (9)
Rising a long, long way in grade but seems to be on the improve. mind you, a year ago he was getting well beaten in BM 72 races, but changed stables, and won a couple of sprints in good style before a solid 3rd in the $1m Inglis sprint last start behind Estriella. This is many lengths harder however.

Place Performer
5. Chain Of Lightning (4)
In and out type, who is a sprint Gr 1 winner and very capable on her day of winning this. Stablemate to I Wish I Win. Ploughed through the mud to claim the Gr 1 TJ Smith last prep. Should be up near the speed and has drawn perfectly. Has knock-out claims. Chances enhanced if track is damp.
-
Good on Soft
6. Estriella (8)
Is very fast and capable of leading these all the way. Has won 4 of her 8 starts, and placed a few times. Led and beaten 2 lengths in the Gr 1 Sangster this journey at the end of a stunning campaign last time in. Brilliantly won a trial recently and should ping from this draw and cross this field to lead. Has an unblemished record while fresh. Now, for the negatives. Has never raced at this track. Money has come for her.

Proven Winner
7. Coleman (6)
Super young colt with the world at his feet. And if he wins this he’s worth around $20. million! Flashed home when 2nd in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper with many claiming he should have won it then came out and ran hard for 3rd in the Gr 1 Sires’. Has raced twice while fresh as he is today, and has won easily both times. This is hard but with the lightweight he will be finishing very strongly. Respect him.

Likes Dry Track
8. Lady Of Camelot (2)
At the weights she is the horse to beat. She can lead, but may not as Estriella will try to, or she can sit behind the speed as she did to win the Golden Slipper in fast time. Sat wide at her next start when a game 2nd to Eneeza at her latest start in the $1million Percy Sykes this trip. Drawn perfectly and beat Giga Kick ina. recent trial. Looms very large.

Proven Winner
9. Hayasugi (7)
Star filly who also has the weight to make her presence felt in this. Stormed home from near last to win the Gr 1 Blue Diamond last prep this trip narrowly running down Lady Of Camelot at level weights. Forget she went around in the Golden Slipper at her next start when bother struck. Has trialled well and has a proven finishing kick. Be wary of her.
