1. Mr Brightside (12)
Read this – 46 starts, 20 wins and 15 placings. What a war horse. He has earned $18million in prizemoney along the way. Just keeps starting at great prices, last start for instance, in the Gr 1 Makybe Diva where at $5 he led all the way to easily beat Aeliana and Via Sistina. Won’t be leading these but has won 2 x Gr 1 races here at this trip. Massive threat.

Proven Winner
2. Royal Patronage (3)
Solid type who will be up on pace. Probably trails Pride Of Jenni for most of the race. This will be hard for him late but is honest and is trained here.

3. Ceolwulf (4)
Finished like a train to win this race last year. Not racing with the same zest this time, though. Got back and ran on only fairly when beaten 3.5 lengths in the Gr 1 Epsom in fast time. Is capable of winning, but place hope this year looks best.

Place Performer
4. Lake Forest (2)
Top class English visitor who comes here off two recent placings, latest when 2nd at Gr 1 level at York in good time over 1408m. You may recall this was the bloke who came from 17th on the bend to brilliantly win the 2024 Golden Eagle at Rosehill in very fast time over 1500m. Likes pace being on, will get that here, and looms as the one to beat.

5. Tom Kitten (7)
Yet to put his best foot forward since changing stables, but to be fair, in those two races, both at this trip, the races weren’t run to suit him. This one will be. Can run home hard on his day as his $5.8million in stakes testifies to.

Ready to Fire
6. Pericles (5)
Has come back to racing in superb form and is very honest. Won Gr 2 Tramway over 1400m in good time here then lugged a bit of weight into 3rd spot in the Gr 1 Epsom here this trip last start in fast time. Will be decent odds and will also be right in this finish.

7. Yellow Brick (10)
Queenslander with talent and Gr 1 placings to his credit but WFA and a strong Gr 1 at that will test him.

8. Pier (1)
Kiwi star who has claims. Beaten 4 lengths by Autumn Glow when resuming in Gr 2 over 1300m, then was beaten by her in fast run Gr 1 Epsom last start. In June, won this trip in record time at Eagle Farm and is ready to fire. Has to be considered.

Ready to Fire
9. El Castello (9)
Up on pace in the Gr 1 Epsom last start with 51kg but weakened to finish 10th. These will test him.

10. Fangirl (11)
Super mare who has won $10.6million thus far and looks well suited to this. Has won 9 of her 12 wins here, and 5 of those wins have been at this distance. Won the Gr 1 Queen Of The Turf this trip last prep, then spelled and recently stormed home to beat subsequent winner Lindermann and Ceolwulf in the $1million 7 Stakes this trip here in good time. Will be rushing home late as usual.

Track Talent
11. Pride Of Jenni (8)
Wonder mare. Runner-up in this race last year and has come back in better form, winning, leading all the way when resuming last start over this trip from Treasurethe Moment and Attrition. Her best win was at this track over 2000m, and there is confidence around that she will lead these all a merry dance yet again.

Track Talent
12. Within The Law (6)
Carries no weight and is in form. Should be up in top 3 or 4 throughout. Placed this trip in 3YO fillies Gr 1 level last start. No surprise to see her place again.
