1. Cool Archie (9)
How are they going to stop him? He was incredibly impressive in the main lead up to this last start over 1400m. He just seems to have a lap on his peers. That win was his 4th straight and he should continue the streak here.

Proven Winner
2. Grafterburners (2)
Races like this trip will suit and can be expected to run boldly. Is 3rd up here. Latest run was very strong coming from 12th on the bend, copping mud in the face on a heavy track and finishing 6th to Cool Archie. Should be much fitter now.

Ready to Fire
3. Farnicle (4)
Can a colt by Farnan be on speed over a mile at just his 4th start and beat these? Hmmm, nearly did over 1400m in the Gr 2 Sires’ last start over 1400m, with only Cool Archie swamping him late. Fitter now and will take catching.

4. Call Da Vinci (14)
Good, honest type who seems to be getting better with racing and gives the impression this trip will suit. Won 2 on the bounce at Ipswich before being tossed in to the $1million Gr 2 Sires’ last start on a heavy track and he made up enormous ground late to grab 3rd. May surprise these.

5. Torque To Be Sure (10)
Has some quality about him but gives the impression he wants a dry track. Plugged home usefully when 5th in the 1400m Gr 2 Sires’ last start on a heavy track behind Cool Archie. Still a maiden after 5 starts. May sneak a place.

Likes Dry Track
6. Aerodrome (15)
Very handy but after winning 1400m at Hawkesbury in the mud, came north and had every chance when a plodding 7th to Cool Archie in the Sires’. This is longer and harder. Not keen.

7. Thee Creek (5)
Has talent but is he up to Gr 1 level at a mile? Thrashed behind Cool Archie in the Gr 2 Champagne over 1200m, then sent back to the provincials and was too good at Ipswich. Fitter now, confidence is up but the trip is my worry.

8. Hidden Achievement (6)
Rising star Sydney colt who brings different form lines to this race. Has obvious wheels and can run home hard but is up in class. Is getting better with racing and Jay mac rides so must be respected. Place show.

Ready to Fire
9. Zebra Finch (1)
Sydney colt who narrowly beat Hidden Achievement last start in the mud at Rosehill over 1300m. Up in class here but is very honest and can sit up on speed. Should be in the fray.

10. Navy Pilot (11)
This is a pretty handy colt and he has wheels. Should handle this trip comfortably too. Rattled home over 1500m last week in the Listed Phoenix when 3rd and had been a most unlucky nose 2nd to the handy Call Da Vinci the start prior in the mud. Respect him.

11. Zoutanium (7)
Strong colt who rolls to the lead and fights hard. Carried slightly less than his rivals last start but had a ding dong duel with 2 others down the Rosehill straight and in the 3-way finish was beaten a nose by Zebra Finch. Extra trip here is a concern though.
13. The Bear (16)
Got caught on the slow part of the track but still made headway here last week in the 1500m when 6th. Harder here but is going to lob one day at very big odds. Place in this though if he gets a good run.

14. Meet George (8)
Can run a bit but not at this level. On speed and weakened right out of it last week behind Sunrays. Not keen.
-
Good on Soft
15. Mortal Halo (3)
Drawn well but grade will test. Still a maiden after 4 starts, latest effort was narrow loss in a 2YO maiden at Doomben. No.
-
Good on Soft
16. Providence (12)
Big ask here at just 3r5d race start and backing up from a good but unplaced effort when running on 4th to Sunrays last week. Can place at he’s pretty smart but will have to go back early.

17. Sweet Pretender (13)
Good, strong filly who was very workmanlike when he nosed out Mortal Halo over 1350m last start in a maiden. Is stakes placed and is in form. Place at at huge odds.
