Gr 1 – Goodwood Hcp

Has the perfect draw and looks the winner. Is by far the best sprinter in this field and he should get the run of the race back in about 6th spot to the bend, then just needs clear air. Last start in Perth, he rattled home to just miss in the $5million Quokka behind Jigsaw at level weights, this journey. Jigsaw would be a $1.40 chance in this. He is 3rd up into this, has run a faster 1400m time than all of these and sprints very well, so, just looks like easy money to me.

Smart of his day but can be a bit hit and miss. Won a stakes race this trip at Randwick in April looking strong but how do we explain his inglorious last to Marhoona in the Gr 1 The Galaxy last start? Hmmm, has won a trial very recently at Mornington in prep for this. Place on his best.

Tends to do his best when held up for a run home which he showed last start here over 1100m when resuming. Sat back about 12th of 20 until straightening then unleashed to win the Hawkes Stakes over 1100m. Is pretty consistent but is up in grade here. That win makes him a threat however.

Could be the dark horse. Tends to always be topweight in stakes races as he was last start when resuming and a flashy 4th at Mornington over 1200m in the Hareeba Stakes. This is harder but WFA suits and he can run on hard.

Looks the main danger to the topweight. Is very powerful late and has returned in supreme form. Was the run of the day last start when absolutely rocketing home with a big weight into 2nd spot behind Grand Larceny in the Hawkes Stakes. Meets that horse 6kg better and is fitter now. Big show.

Resumed with a stunning upset win the Gr 3 Irwin beating Watchme Win carrying 2kg less than him. Then just over 2 lengths away from Geegees Mistruth last start in the Gr 1 Sangster this trip. Fitter now and can rush late.

Ran good time, especially over the final 600m, to win here last start. Carried 57.5kg that day. Drops 3kg but goes up in grade. Still, he is racing with a lot of gusto and must be considered.

Got a fair way out of his gropund early but came with a stunning finish to win the Hareeba last start this trip. That was at Mornington and the time was solid. This is a step up in class though but is 3rd up now and looks to be developing into a fine sprinter. Place.

In and out type who can perform well this level on his day. Ran a plodding 5th to Super Smink last start. Does reserve his best for this track but should finish midfield.

Interesting runner. Has the good gate but drops out so that should be negated. However, he can run and has recorded very fast 1400m times on a few occasions and last time he raced this trrip ran a very quick 1200m at caulfield with 58kg. Is up in class a long way though but may be a nice big odds place bet.

Has speed but circumstances are against him here. Likes to roll forward and from this gate he should get trapped 3-wide the whole race. Loves this journey but the hard run and the Gr 1 grade will test late. Not keen.

Tough, handy speedster who should run well. Saying that, the last time he raced Rey Magnerio was late last year and that horse beat him by 4 lengths. The last time he raced Super Smink was a month ago and she beat him by 2 lengths. So, may be aiming at minor prizemoney here.

Terrific sprinting mare who looks very hard to beat. Probably sits midfield. If she gets cover she is a major player. rattled home here last start when 4th, beaten a head in the Gr 1 Sangster this trip. If the race was 1210m, she wins. Is honest, very fit and drops 2.5kg. Have in your numbers.

Beaten less than a length last start when resuming here in the Gr 3 Hawkes Stakes behind Grand Larceny. Meets him 6.5kg better and is fitter now. Last year she raced Flying For Fun at level weights and beat her so if you like that mare for this, you must like this one too. Big show.

What she has in her favour is honesty. Just tries so, so hard and gets home strongly. Nicely drawn here but does get back so probably sits on the fence in about 7th spot to the bend. If she gets out in time, watch her fly. Flashed home in the Quokka last start this trip when beaten under a length by Jigsaw. Rates highly.

Must be given a shot as she is improving every run. Latest effort makes her a chance. Was a mile back and wide yet rattled home to fail by a length behind Tycoon Star here in good time. Meets him better at the weights too. Final 600m was very fast. Lightly raced but has drawn well and should get a cosy run. Has no weight either whiuch helps, so has strong claims.
