That means this bloke sits up in 3rd, smoking his pipe. He angles clear as they straighten up and explodes away to win as he pleases. Looks to have lengths on his rivals.

Is very fast and off this draw should drive forward. He will either lead or settle half a length of Lady Of Camelot. Either way, he’s there ready to extend when they turn for home. Is tough and very fit. Will be in this for a long way.

He has drawn perfectly and if he eases once he jumps, he may find himself in the one, one sit from the get-go. Is fit and more than capable of handling the best ones. Have in your numbers.

Has all the talent in the world but gets back and tends to find bother. Saying that, he rattled home into 2nd spot last start behind traffic Warden in the 1400m Gr 2 Sires’ but in slow time. Still a maiden and stays that way after this race too.

Is very smart and didn’t surprise in winning the Gr 2 Sires’ in Melbourne last start over 1400m which he did easily, but it did surprise to see him do it from the front. The tempo here will be a million times faster so he will drop back, but from this gate he can sit about 7th and be one off. Is fit and runs on hard. Could grab a place at big odds.

Is he the forgotten horse? Is lightning fast and will no doubt zoom toward the front early.  Likes it damp too which he will get here and did easily win the Gr 2 Silver Slipper over Espionage and Erno’s Cube before a gallant 2nd to the unbeaten super colt Switzerland last start in fast time over this trip in the Gr 2 Todman. Is extremely fit, dogged and may find himself in a great winning spot with cover as they turn. Big danger.

Superstar in the making who is unbeaten in 3 starts to date latest when simply too powerful late for the smart Straight Charge in fast time this trip in the Gr 2 Todman. Just keeps getting better and better with racing and off this nice draw will sit about 6th with cover before unleashing his potent finishing burst. Just seems to know how to win.

Looms as the dark horse here at odds. Sat wide yet too strong late to win Blue Diamond lead-up before going amiss for a little while and not racing until last start when given no chance being last for home in the Gr 2 Todman. Made good ground late when 4th to Switzerland. Is much fitter now, sits midfield until they turn and will dash home hard late. Respect him a lot.

Is fast and tough as he proved last weekend with a drubbing of a Gr 3 field in the lead-up this trip. Time was only average but he beat them convincingly. This is harder and he hasn’t drawn well. But should be thereabouts at the end.

Quick back-up from last week and has displayed a foot concern in the past few days. Gets the dream draw which allows him to find a gentle spot and just behind the expected speed. Only plugged on fairly when 3rd last week behind Dublin Down and on that basis he appears to be a length or two inferior to a few of these.

Big price because he won the hoodoo race the Canberra Black Opal. But he has drawn a great gate, is in form and is very, very smart. Should get back about midfield but can finish off a few of these will be wobbly in the straight. Definite place hope.

Gate is a worry but gee this bloke is smart. Resumed from spell and allowed his vaunted stablemate to dictate out in front when 2nd to Storm Boy. No loafing around this time and he has the acceleration, should he get cover early, to fire at this major prize late. Has claims.

Has been set a task from this horror draw. Means she has to drop back and probably will be last for home. First time at this track and this way of going too – all add up to it being an impossible task for her. But, to counter that, she is a fighter with enormous talent. Did win the Gr 1 Blue Diamond after racing wide. Place.

What happens with here? She has a great draw and is a natural free-flowing front-runner. But, there are a few here capable of leading this field so will they all go hard early? She certainly will. Can run a strong 1200m. May hand up and take a sit which would be a prudent move. If so, she can dash when they turn and if she runs like that she is right in this. If, however, she goes like a scalded cat and tries to lead from gate rise she will get run over.

Untapped talent who will scare a lot of these. That’s because she is honest and can run on very hard at the end. raced 3 times for 2 stakes win and a 2nd to Lady Of Camelot in a shorter race. Draw means she drops back early but she does anyway. If they overcook up front, she will finish over them.

Talented Victorian filly racing this way for the first time. Beaten comfortably in the Gr 1 Blue Diamond by both Hayasugi and Lady Of Camelot so not likely to trouble these. Does like it damp though.

Is the reserve here but if he gains a run he is a player. Beat Straigh Charge on debut in the Breeders’ Plate, then chased him home when resuming. Last start was 5th to Switzerland in the Todman in a completely forgettable run where he just had no luck in the straight. Is a smart juvenile.
