Gr 1 – Champions Stakes

Is 4th up into this and ready to strike. All his runs since change of stable have been handy, latest when finishing hard from near last on bend for 5th to Ceolwulf in the Gr 1 King Charles over a mile. Has won here and has a good 2000m record. I think he runs 2nd.

Is getting close to a win and this is his fav trip. Led until Treasurethe Moment stormed past him in the Gr 1 Cox Plate last start. That was 250m from home yet he kept battling to finish 5th to Via Sistina. Runs 5th in this race also.

Last win was in June when he stormed home to run good time and claim the Gr 2 Q22 at Eagle Farm. Showed he is back in form when running home well for 3rd to Lindermann at WFA in Gr 3 Craven Plate last start. Will get back and run on here too. Finishes 6th in this.

Is in career best form but just can’t seem to win a race. Chased home the flying Lindemann in Gr 2 Hill Stakes in Sydney then ran a cracking 4th when on pace all the way to Via Sistina in the Gr 1 Cox Plate. Has claims. Finishes 3rd I think here.

Started at $61 last start and was on pace all the way when a great 2nd, finishing alongside Middle Earth who just ran 3rd in the Melbourne Cup. This does look a bit hard but that was a nice run last start in the JRA Cup over 2040m. Finishes 8th for mine.

Is in great touch and will be a player. Fought on like a caged lion in the Gr1 King Charles last start when a great 3rd. Should settle and be within striking distance here. Is in this up to his eyeballs. Should run 4th and that’s because he’s never won at 2000m.

Generally gets up on speed and this race suits that style. Was Gr 1 placed in September over 1800m behind Sir Delius. Ran a nice 2nd in easier Crystal Mile last start. Will be battling away and runs 8th.

Interesting runner. Has raced just once over the past 12 months and that was a fortnight ago when well supported and 6th beaten 4 lengths by Star Of India. A year ago was a bonafide rising star. This is harder and may need the run. Finishes last, however.

Has won past 4 starts on the bounce latest in a  BM 78 at Caulfield in good time over 2000m. Whole new world at this level though. Finishes about 9th.

Is back to her best. Is a grade above these and I can’t see her losing.

Tough Gr 1 winner earlier this year over 2000m in good time. Being rushed here as just last Saturday she plugged on into 7th behind Pride Of Jenni in the Gr 1 Empire Rose over 1600m. Not all that keen, unless the rain comes. Finishes 10th.
