- (1600M)

1. Mr Brightside (4)
What a terrific horse. Just loves this trip, this track and everything looks in place for him to run a blinder. Presumably sits about 4th then can pounce. Was strong late when 4th to Via Sistina in the Gr 1 Cox plate. Must be in your numbers.

2. My Oberon (6)
Has had his foot on the till for a few runs now so no surprise to see him win this. Placed in Gr 1 races of late and the way he runs should suit this track a great deal. Can easily sneak a place at good odds.

3. Pinstriped (8)
Three runs back ran fast time to score Gr 1 win overc1400m in the Memsie Stakes beating Mr Brightside. Well held a start later when near last in Gr 1 Makybe Diva behind Mr Brightside and Pride Of Jenni. Dropped in class last start and finished hard from well back for 3rd in the 1400m Moonga Stakes. This is harder but can finish hard.

Good on Soft
4. Antino (12)
Could not have been more impressive in winning the Gr 1 Toorak this trip in Via Sistina style. Swept around them near the bend and just raced away to win by 7. This is harder but is in superb form and loves this trip. Will be hard to beat.

5. Desert Lightning (11)
Should run OK. Is a Gr 1 talent from NZ who won the Gr 3 Sandown Stakes at 1500m then drew wide, and ran well for 4th behind Antino in the Toorak. Can handle dry or wet tracks and looms as threat.

6. Another Wil (2)
If this was a 1400m race I’d be on him but he does seem to find the mile hard at this level. Saying that he’s won 7 of his past 9 starts. Won here on Saturday in the Gr 2 Linlithgow in good time. This is very hard and that last 100m is a worry but he is very classy.

7. New Energy (3)
Won just the one race from 18 starts. Last start beaten into 5th in the Gr 1 King Charles. Not keen here.

8. Von Hauke (1)
Handy type who is very fit but his past few runs have been solid. He was 4th last start, but in recent starts he’s been just behind the pace. Not keen.

9. Pride Of Jenni (7)
Controversial change of jock for this. She likes to lead and is a brilliant miler. But her go is to get a long way in front and she just didn’t do that last start in the Cox Plate when she led by a length or so only and weakened final stages to get beaten 15 lengths. Had won the Gr 2 Feehan over this trip 3 runs back and 2 starts back led until the final 50m in the Gr 1 King Charles. On her day she wins this easily.

10. Fangirl (9)
On her day she is a superstar who can sit off speed and just explode late. But, lately, she’s been a bit hit-and-miss. Won the 7 Stakes worth $1m over a mile at Randwick beating My Oberon but last start at WFA was 6th to Ceolwulf and Pride Of Jenni in the Gr 1 King Charles after being ridden upside down. Will drop out this time and make a late charge. Have in your numbers because she is too good to leave out.

Ready to Fire
11. Amelia's Jewel (10)
Top class mare who hasn’t won for a while but my word she’s gone close and often. Looked home in the Gr 1 Empire Rose over a mile here last week only to get caught on the line by Atishu. Is very honest nd loves the mile. Big show.

12. Stefi Magnetica (5)
Classy mare who will love this track. Gets back and runs on hard. Is super fit now and should have won the $10 million Golden Rose last start. This is harder but she is a Gr 1 winner of the Stradbroke. Sure to run on.

Ready to Fire
13. Broadsiding (13)
was the Champion 2YO last season and if he wins this will be the Champion 3YO and after the way he hit the line in the Gr 1 Cox Plate when 3rd to Via Sistina, he does look the one to beat. Will love this track and with Pride Of Jenni running them along he should rattle home. Is weighted to win.
