1. Anode (3)
Is very fast and tough and does look the pacemaker in this. Which makes him a major threat because these Gai and Adrian horses who are left alone in front are very hard to run past as Linebacker found out in the 1400m Baillieu at gr 3 level. He led and it took the boom horse Linebacker the entire straight to nab him on the line. Since then he led and weakened in the mud here over 1400m in the gr 1 Sires’ behind Manaal but was only beaten 4 lengths. Has claims.

Track Talent
2. Linebacker (5)
At the recent Inglis Yearling Sale, trainer John O’Shea spent a lot of money buying sons of young stallion Super seth. I’m assuming that’s because this colt, by Super seth, impresses him a great deal. last start he gave rise to that thought by running down Anode in the Gr 3 Baillieu over 1400m. Missed the Sires and the Fernhill to concentrate on this race so must be well respected.

Proven Winner
3. Broadsiding (7)
Is all quality and is on the quick back-up after an effortless win in the Fernhill here last week over this trip. Scored with his head on his chest and this followed a game 3rd to Linebacker and Anode the start prior in the 1400m Baillieu where he got too far back early. Is on the rise, seems to love this journey and looks a major player.
4. Fearless (2)
Has talent. After winning a maiden at Newcastle stepped up to Gr 1 level and was a game 6th to manaal in a race that turned into a sprint home. Seems as though he will run this trip out and has beaten Traffic warden, a Gr 2 winner and recent Gr 1 placegetter. Keep him in your numbers.

Ready to Fire
5. El Castello (8)
Maiden galloper but one with enormous ability. Has only raced twice but last start was on pace for most of the way when a game 2nd to Broadsiding in the 1600m Fernhill. Seems to be getting better with racing and at odds is a place show.

6. Tenbury Wells (6)
Has had 3 runs to date. Wouldn’t win this with a headstart.

Good on Soft
7. Manaal (4)
Is a Gr 1 winner and is a superior juvenile. Has a motor as big as she is and just looks a few grades above these. I can’t see her losing.

Proven Winner
8. In Her Eyes (1)
Is just out of maiden grade after a very narrow Cranbourne win over 1300m so this grade will test her.
