1. Tom Kitten (12)
Is racing in career best form and some say this is his pet trip. Sat and ambled to the lead in the All Star Mile last start making it 2 from 2 this time up. Is super honest, very talented and will look the winner at some stage in the straight. Big show.

2. Light Infantry Man (9)
Quality animal who is a multiple Gr 1 winner and in fact won this race in fast time last year. Seems to be racing in similar fashion this time around. Will be near the speed, which should be hot and sure to be right in the fray late.

3. Apulia (2)
The last time Willie Pike rode this horse, they easily won the 2400m Perth Cup. Since then, 2 starts from a spell have been great latest when finishing hard for 2nd to the flying Birdman at WFA over 1800m. Similar conditions here and track suits. Sure to finish hard again.

Good, solid stayer but WFA will find him out. Likes to lead and wont get that here as Pride Of Jenni will scorch him early. Not keen.

5. Birdman (5)
Is the inform galloper at the moment after winning the Gr 2 Blamey over a mile here easily, then trouncing Apulia when winning the 1800m Gr 2 Peter Young last start. Will love the frantic early nature of pace here, should settle about 5th and is in supreme form. Big show.

6. Sabaj (6)
This is a smart horse on the way up. Rocketed home for 4th to Tom Kitten in the All Star Mile last start giving the impression if it was 1800m he’d be in front. Has not raced at this journey before and it will be run at a cracking pace which may suit. Place show.

7. Mark Twain (4)
Good 3rd hitting the line hard in the Gr 2 Blamey when resuming but this is a complete level higher. Not keen.

Good on Soft
8. Pride Of Jenni (10)
Superstar who like to lead at a fastr pace, then race away and hang tough. Is 2nd up here after a great 3rd when leading in the All Star Mile. However, she is going to hav company on the pace this time. And that may hurt her hopes. At her best she is too good but this trip, 2nd up, with other pacemakers in the field to upset her, she looks vulnerable to me.

9. Damask Rose (1)
Yet to race at this trip and tough ask against a good WFA Gr 1 field. Looks safely held by these.

10. Leica Lucy (3)
Finally out to a trip she likes and I suspect she sits back, lets the speedsters kill themselves, then comes with a barnstorming finish. Finished ok when just over a length behind Tom Kitten in the All Star Mile last start. Fitter now. Very well placed given how she races and how this event will be run. Big danger.

Ready to Fire
11. Basilinna (8)
Long distance stayer better suited at handicaps. No hope in this field.
-
Good on Soft
12. Philia (7)
Good, solid mare but is she a Gr 1 galloper? Probably not. Unplaced last start in ordinary Gr 2.
