1. Strictly Business (19)
Didn’t fire a shot last start at Ballarat in bush Oaks over 2000m in slow time. Last spring, romped home to easily win the Gr 1 VRC Oaks over 2500m. Is 3rd up here and is too good to leave out of your numbers.

Ready to Fire
2. Getta Good Feeling (5)
Is the form horse and the class horse. Is faster than these over shorter trips, and last start won at a mile sitting off the pace. Did beat subsequent Gr 1 winner Strictly Business back in the spring over 2000m. Looks hardest to beat.

3. Salty Pearl (3)
Drawn to get the run of the race. Has been doing everything right this time up, winning races and placing at Gr 1 level all the while suggesting this trip and this day will suit. Sure to charge late.

4. Panova (16)
Drawn badly. Last spring ran herself into calculation for anything when winning Gr races with powerful finishing bursts, but not done anything in 3 starts this prep. Still, Waller has her in Adelaide and Jay Mac is riding so they must think she is going well. Place.

5. Mating Call (10)
Is never far away but, is nearly always just behind the placegetters. Past few showed that, until latest when storming home from near last to win nice lead up race here over 1800m. That run gives her a shot.

7. Freedom Flame (1)
More than handy filly who gets a lovely run throughout here in say 4th spot saving ground from this gate. On speed and run down late when narrow 2nd to Mating Call last start. Must be a hope.

8. Bona Sforza (20)
Kiwi filly who can stay and that makes her a threat. Won last start in NZ at stakes level over a mile. Did run 4th in Gr 1 NZ 1000 Guineas. Place show.

9. Stung (17)
Hard filly to work out and is badly drawn, although she will drop to the rear and make a late charge. Won stakes race here over a mile looking great but got back and didn’t run on at all last start when beaten 11 lengths by Mating call. Hmmmm. hard to have.

10. Savitri (13)
Rising in grade here but has obvious ability. Is by So You Think so looks a stayer and after winning a midweeker at Caulfield, came to town on a Saturday and scored impressively in a 3YO fillies race over 1700m. Just may make the next step to this level. Place.

Proven Winner
11. Kazaru (14)
Can stay and has claims. Won the Tasmanian Oaks over 2100m comfortably then caught the eye when flashing home for 4th to Mating Call. Should be running home hard.

12. Paltrow Miss (9)
Promising type in the making. Has won 2 of her 3 starts and was 2nd in the other. All in weaker grade latest when 2nd to Savitri at Caulfield over 1700m. Has to be conceded a show here.

13. Naraghi (8)
Took on leadership role in the Gr 3 over 1700m here last start and was run down late by Mating Call. Probably leads again and is improving but that extra 200m will hurt.

14. Just Kick (12)
Maiden filly after 8 starts but has talent. Ran an even race when beaten 2.2 lengths by Savitri and Paltrow Miss last start. This looks a tad rich.

15. Synthesise (11)
Poor draw but does go back. Form was good in weaker grade then at big odds ran a courageous 3rd to Stung at strakes level. Thrashed last start behind Mating Call.

16. Cushioned (6)
Finished hard to win provincial a maiden last start on a very damp track. This is grades better.

Good on Soft
17. Oui Oui Ma Cherie (Em1) (4)
Nicely drawn but well beaten in the 2 major lead up races to this. Not keen.
