Greyhound Tips – Saturday 28th February

BALLYNEALE BOLT (6) missed the kick last week and showed tremendous track sense to weave a passage to get into the race and worked hard to get back into the race but that effort took its toll over the final stages, finishing 2nd to Major Flirt beaten 2.5 lengths. Hopefully tonight he gets the start right, lands on his arm, and we see the real deal again. MRS BUTTONS (2) could be the stumbling block as she is generally a good beginner and might punch up early. She has a best time of 29.88 winning here last weekend and could give Ballyneale some work to do.

Although he’s not well drawn, I’m going with AYDENS WARRIOR (6) for the Jason Thompson camp to win this year’s Group 1 Fanta Bale. He never seems to have any luck with the draws in big races but he has plenty of ability and only needs some luck in running to be very hard to beat. There are plenty of chances in the race and I’ll tip VODKA AND ICE (3) to be his main opposition as he is learning all the time & I thought the stripe Fade To Black was very disappointing last week.

Looking for some value here in the Rookie Rebel and going to have an each-way play at DAYSEAS RORY (8) who is having his first run over the trip but has been in great form of late and had no luck in the Australian Cup heats and semis over the past few weeks. From the draw he can stay out of early trouble and may get the jump on them and then it will be wait and see if he can run the trip. I think he can! His main danger will likely come from MISS ENVY (2) who couldn’t get across last time out at Sandown Park from the pink but she had been in fine form before that.
