ALL STAR MILE
STEFFI MAGNETICA looks extremely well suited here in the All Star Mile and I will be having an each-way play on her today. First-up, she was doing her best work late behind the unbeaten Autumn Glow at Randwick. From the low draw, she maps to track the speed here and should be hard to hold off at the business end of the race.
NEWMARKET HANDICAP
TENTYRIS is hard to go past here in The Newmarket after a brilliant first-up effort, roaring home giving his opposition wind burn over the concluding stages to win the Lightning down the straight here last time. Although he is a 3yo and meets some opponents here worse at the weights, he is all class and should still be very hard to stop.
BM75 HANDICAP
MOONHAVEN won nicely second-up here in the state after getting a gun run in behind the speed and when asked for the supreme effort, he rocketed through a gap and pulled clear for a soft win. This race is no harder & gets the claim for Jace McMurray, so expect this 5yo gelding to be the one to beat again.
CLASS 6 HANDICAP
FACUNDO looks well placed here to get back into the winner’s stall. First up, he was wide throughout and hampered over the concluding stages, so he should have finished closer than the final result. Undefeated second-up, and with a better draw today, Facundo should prove very hard to beat with Michael Rodd on board.
BUNBURY CUP
Giving SILVER EYE another chance after never getting into the race last time out at Ascot when he sat at the tail and ran home late to go down by only 2L. He had a brief freshen before that run so he may have needed it. Hopefully we will get a more positive ride here in the Bunbury Cup and at good odds, should be a solid each-way play.
