GRAND OMAHA was one of the better runs coming out of The Roses last start at Doomben. She was beaten 1.5 lengths by Fireball Miss who obtained an inside run, while Grand Omaha had to work around them and was doing her best work at the line. The rise in trip should suit and Mark Zahra stays on board. She is definitely worth an each-way play in this year’s Oaks.

BALANCE THE BOOKS had no luck last start at Doomben when she got well back in the run and was held up down the straight until the last 100m when she burst through a gap to grab third. She comes into this race carrying only 52.5kg and Ben Thompson will be keen to get her back into winning form after that luckless effort.

MADIYYA has been knocking on the door for a while now and her last start performance indicated she needed a rise in trip. She will be even fitter now being third-up from a spell. Her last win was over this distance 12 months ago, so looking for a repeat of that effort and she breaks back into the winner’s stall today.

ELOUYOU held ground well last week in the final race at Caulfield to grab third placing. He will be fitter for that run and being third-up this time, he will be nearing peak fitness for the step up in trip to the 1400m of today’s race. He gets a 1.5kg claim from Logan Bates for this race and looks very well suited.

Sticking with LADIES PRO after that miraculous win last start here when rider was zigging and zagging down the straight and finally found a hole for them to burst through and get up on the line. Hopefully she will get a clearer run this time and should prove hard to beat again.
