McNeil Stakes
Going with TYCOON STAR again here this week. Looked home for the chocolates last time when he squeezed through a gap but was nabbed on the line by Jimmy Recard, who he meets again here. He strips even fitter and feel Tycoon Star will get a nice trail up into this race and should be the one powering over them over the concluding stages.
Memsie Stakes
FANGIRL makes her re-appearance down here in Melbourne, after the big wet in Sydney changed her plans. She had trialed really well up there and had a nice look around at Caulfield during the week. She has a fantastic fresh record and if the track stays in good condition, she should prove extremely hard to hold out here in the Memsie Stakes.
Class 6 Handicap
FREE CARRY raced on pace and won easily over 1400m last start here and will only be fitter for that run under his belt. Comes into this affair with a kilo less after that win and has won at the mile, four times already. He looks extremely well suited here and should be able to put two together here.
Open Handicap
BULLION BOY went down narrowly last time here to Amur whom he meets again here today. He is now third-up and strips much fitter for those couple of runs. He also meets him on better weight terms this time around and that should be enough to be able to turn the tables around on him. Looks like a good each way bet.
RATING 66+
Like the lightly raced five-year-old mare in DEFERRED here today at Belmont. She is undefeated track/distance and hasn’t missed a place second-up, winning twice. I feel as though the 1000m last time was too short for her and from the low draw, look for her to be sitting in behind the speed and working over them late.
