Blamey Stakes
Thought that BIRDMAN was a fantastic run first-up behind Cafe Millenium here, when he had no luck over the concluding stages sneaking up along the rail and not really getting a decent crack at them. From the middle draw, he should get a gun run behind the speed. He has performed well previously second-up, so look for him to be finishing over the top of them late.
Australian Guineas
OBSERVER was very impressive first-up winning the C.S.Hayes at Caulfield after doing all the work outside the leader and holding off all the challengers to the line. Although this is a slightly harder affair, I feel he only needs to bring that type of form here to the Guineas and he will add another Group 1 to his ever growing resume.
BM78 Handicap
I thought that SAVAGERY VIBE was a tremendous run to win last time at Eagle Farm when he was well back in the field and Ryan Maloney gave him a 10/10 ride, weaving through the field to win well. She has a similar map again here and I see no reason why she won’t be able to put two wins together here.
Open Handicap
It looks as though HELL will get all the advantages here today in a race that seems to lack any speed apart from him. If Emily Lang, who rides as well as anyone from the front, can get away with one or two cheap sectionals, Hell should be able to let down nicely on straightening for home and will take plenty of catching.
1000 Guineas
WONDERFULLY MADE looks very well suited coming into the 1000 Guineas off 1400m and 1600m victories. Willy Pike rode her last time when he was able to dictate terms out in front and lead all the way on her. After that ride, I’d expect him to have learnt even more about the filly and give her every opportunity to run out the 1800m trip. Looks extremely hard to beat.
