W.S.COX PLATE
MOONEE VALLEY Race 10
(2040m)
5:40 pm
Looks an even renewal of the W.S.Cox Plate but going to stick with the mare TREASURETHE MOMENT to bounce back after disappointing last time out in the Caulfield Stakes behind Globe. She looked the winner and then her run peaked at 200m and she was scrubbed along to hold second that day. She had impressed winning the Memsie first-up before chasing home Pride Of Jenni in the Feehan here two back. If she can find best she can win this.
JRA CUP
MOONEE VALLEY Race 5
(2040m)
2:25 pm
MIDDLE EARTH comes back to the 2040m trip in the JRA Cup after running on fairly well in the Caulfield Cup last week behind Half Yours. His only win in Australia was over this trip last year at Flemington beating Duke De Sessa, who went on to win last year’s Caulfield Cup. He looks well suited in this field and should take plenty of stopping.
OPEN HANDICAP
DOOMBEN Race 5
(1600m)
2:28 pm
VICTORY WIN looks extremely hard to beat in the Open Handicap after picking them up easily and winning this track last time out. He stays at the trip where he has won five races previously and being third up now, he should be even fitter for this assignment. Ryan Maloney should get all the favours from perfect barrier and he will get chance at some stage in the straight.
CLASS 6 HANDICAP
DOOMBEN Race 8
(1350m)
4:23 pm
Looks like a nice race for WARBY to get back into the winners list. Got a long way back last time at Eagle farm before running home nicely behind the impressive Tavs and he has proven he can carry weight. Ryan Maloney takes over the reins and this boy has never missed a place over track and distance, so that fact alone, makes him a very solid each way play.

ASCOT Race 8
(1400m)
4:12 pm
OPPORTUNISTIC raced out the back from the wide draw first-up and rocketed to the line late to go down less than 2 lengths behind Bruce Almighty who kicked clear down the lane. He has drawn much better in this and the rise in trip looks ideal. He won the Raconteur and Belmont Guineas last time in work and just oozes class. He should prove the one to beat.
