Best Bets – Saturday 1st November

OBSERVER couldn’t have been more impressive winning the Vase last week at The Valley, when he raced clear at the corner and was eased down nearing the line to win in a canter. The distance of the Derby will suit him and look for the rider to be positive again on him and try and get some easy sectionals. He does appear to be the standout three-year-old stayer this year and deserves a Derby win.

FANGIRL looks the mare to hold out in the Empire Rose. Looks to be plenty of speed with Pride Of Jenni out in the lead, if she weakens like last start, that brings the swoopers into the race nicely and is the best off the backmarkers looks to be Fangirl. She got pushed back further than they would’ve wanted last time and hopefully, her class will be on show and she can get away with this.

At some value, going to have something on CIFRADO, who although has never won over the short trip, he has run three placings over the 1000m and is a horse that likes to sit back and come with one big run. He loves the sting out of the ground, which he should get here and with the in form Jace McMurray taking the claim he gets in okay for a horse that has won five races and ten placings. Looks a good each-way investment.

COSMO CENTAURUS looks like a nice way to finish the card off at Eagle Farm. He was very strong to the line last time out pulling clear for a 2 lengths victory and Daniel Moor retains the ride. He will be even fitter for that first-up effort and has shown he can get through the damp conditions in the past. Looks one of the better bets today.

Going with WATCH ME ROCK to bounce back after going down in the Eurythmic last time out. May have been just in need of that run first-up from a six month break and sure he will be at his top for this edition of the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes. Drawn perfectly in barrier 2, William Pike should be able to put him wherever he wants and he will take plenty of holding off at the line.
