DR WILL (1) has drawn his box tonight at Sandown Park. He’s a five-time winner from the red and should hold up from box rise to land on the arm early. From there, he will run fast time, and if he matches his best time of 29.43, he will be very hard to stop. The veteran GIACOMO (6) will likely be the main danger to the red dog although he is finding it hard to be first past the post lately.
Grade 5
Since moving to South Australia to the Nicole Price kennel, EL REY (1) has been a model of consistency, placing in all of his 7 runs to date. Generally a good beginner who gets stronger as the race goes on, he should camp just behind his main danger, TRIO OF CLOWNS (2) another ex NSW dog, who looks the leader here & has been racing fairly since his move. Look for El Rey to camp on his heels, and prove too strong for them over the final stages of the race.
5th Grade
ZIPPING RUGER (1) looks hard to beat after his last start second to the in form Row Beau here in 29.82. That night he drew the yellow squeeze box and had no luck going into the first turn where he was pushed wide. Once he balanced up he found the rail and worked home well but gave the leader too much of a start. In his previous run he had luck in a small field and ran past Row Beau. From the cherry he has no excuses tonight. His main danger should be his litter brother in ZIPPING SAKO (4) who did defeat the promising Bull Market a fortnight ago here. He has better box manners than his brother but Ruger will be very strong to the line.
