Greyhound Tips – Thursday 14th August

CUMBRIA JACK (8) broke the track record last week with the first sub 29 seconds run at Q2 running 28.99 and winning by 9 lengths. He is nearly faultless at the start and should get a nice cart into the first corner from the two dogs drawn inside him. He has won 3 out of 4 from the pink so the box doesn’t pose a problem. If he does land close, he should prove far too strong at the line. The danger could come from the previous record holder in BLUE BLEND (9) who gets a start from the green box and was luckless in his heat.

WITHOUT A TRACE (7) got back into the winner’s kennel last week winning by 4.25 lengths after having no luck here at her previous run. She should get a nice cart across from the 6 dog and camp on his tail until getting into top gear down the back straight and showing her true class. The danger will come from another girl, ETHANOL WATER (5) who is very consistent and always gives you a run for your money. 

TAORMINA (7) missed the kick for the first time in ages in the heat last Saturday night on the wet track, so forgiving that run and putting her on top again. She has won twice from the 7 box and if she jumps with them, she should be able to cross and find the lure going out of the straight. She will take plenty of catching if she finds the top. The old fella BOTH BOWERS ACE (1) Is the danger, he thrives when he jumps from the red box. He will hug the rail throughout and should be able to get into the placings.
