Greyhound Tips – Thursday 13th August

LATE IN WINTER (2) went down in a tight finish last week at Richmond after finding the lead early but was pressed throughout and fought on strongly. From the same draw tonight, I feel he will find the arm here and if he can run up to his best time of 29.44, he should prevail again. His danger will be WINSOME STORM (1), who lands behind him at box rise. He has won his past couple of runs here and has a solid record from the cherry. His issue will be getting through traffic & Late In Winter should be well in front of him at the halfway mark.

It’s hard not to be impressed with what WRONGLY ACCUSED (6) has done in his short career to date, and I think he will salute and be the representative of Victoria in the National Final in a fortnight. He was unlucky not to win three starts back in The Maturity final and has since recorded brilliant wins in his last two starts here. Although there is plenty of speed inside him, he has a touch of class over his rivals. His main opposition should come from OFF THE CHART (3) who is the likely leader and is racing well but is struggling to be first past the post of late. 

WINSOME JET (8) looks extremely well suited to bounce back onto the winners list tonight and jetsetting off to Melbourne for the Sprint final after drawing perfectly out in the pink. He had no luck last week and went down narrowly after being trapped wide throughout the trip; the winner got all the favours along the rail. He only needs to begin with them early and he should be able to take over mid-race and get the win over his rivals. His danger may come from ZIPPING LEE (2) who is racing well and does possess a win against our top tip five starts back.
