Drawn on the fence, he should get every opportunity to hold his position into the first turn and prove hard to run down. ZIPPING LAMBERT (2) is the main danger after a much-improved second here last start. He maps for a soft run from box two and looks the runner most likely to pounce if the favourite gives them a start.

TOWERING EARL (2) looks the one to beat after putting together back-to-back wins and drawing ideally in box two. The Brett Smith-trained chaser boasts 18 wins from 37 starts and was impressive here last week when showing his customary early speed before proving too strong late. With a vacant lane to work through early, he should get every chance to settle on the pace and take plenty of running down. HOTSHOT LILY (6) is the main danger. She’s won 19 races from just 33 starts and has been racing consistently in stronger company, making her the runner most likely to challenge if Towering Earl doesn’t get things his own way.

OUR OZZIE SALUTE (3) looks well placed to bounce back in the Spring Gift after tackling strong company at Cannington in recent starts. A winner of 22 races from 65 starts, he’s a proven performer over this track and trip with 13 victories at the venue and owns a slick 29.57 personal best. Drawn in box three, he should get every chance to land on the speed early and make his presence felt throughout. SUNSET CALIGULA (6) is the main danger. The classy chaser has won 10 of 17 starts and possesses the early dash to offset the draw, making him the runner most likely to challenge.
