Greyhound Tips – Saturday 31st January

In a very open Futurity final this year, where my top picks would be the reserves and they are unlikely to get a start, so I will tip the Peter Lagogiane trained HOTSHOT LILY (3) on top after winning her heat in 30.02 and showed that she has plenty of talent running away with the victory after railing the ears off them at the first corner. Looks a solid each-way selection. The Lagogiane camp also has MAGICAL ANG (3) in the race and see her as a real danger. She is a near faultless beginner and will likely see the arm first & if there is any bunching up early on, she may be off and gone.

Feel as though KING OF GODS (3) is going to end up the best greyhound from this bunch in a wide open Derby final, so although he will need some luck early on from the draw, if he gets that going into the first corner, he will prove very hard to hold off at the business end of the race. RED ROCK RAZZLE (8) won well in his heat in 29.8 from the green and has good speed at box rise, so he may be able to get across if there happens to be any trouble early on.

ZELDA COVILHA (1) looks to have drawn his box tonight after a bunch of squeeze boxes of late and he should settle right up on speed, as he usually  steps okay and should be able to punch up at that short first corner. If he holds the lead he will take plenty of running down & even if he doesn’t, he can still win from behind. ASCEND ECSTATIC (5) has been mixing it up with Paw Petrov and company of late and racing well without winning. He will likely get back but will be strong late.
