Greyhound Tips – Saturday 21st March

CONSIGLIERE (8) ran the best time of last week’s heats and comes into the final as the favorite to win this prestigious race. He won from the pink at Nowra five runs back and worked around them nicely to take control mid-race, winning by 8 lengths. He placed in the Group 1 Australian Cup two starts back, and although this race is chocked full of talent, he looks well placed to add another win to the Clover Park kennel. I’m a big fan of ZIPPING KAYLI (1). Although this is only her 8th run, she continues to impress. She will enjoy the rails draw and ran on well last week to finish 2nd to Consigliere, so she looks like his main danger again.

This is one of the best country finals fields on offer, as nearly all the main contenders advanced last Monday night. There is so much speed in this field, with all drawn boxes 1-6, and can certainly see some tightening occurring early on. Because of that, leaning towards GOLD FORCE (7) who is generally slow out but scouts wide. He whipped around them from the tail in his heat and I’m favoring a similar pattern again tonight. He is bursting to win a big one and this might be the one. DRAMATICAL (3) who won this year’s Australian Cup, will go into the race as the favorite and a major player. Even if he gets squeezed early, he is a star and will finish strongly.

In this ripping edition of the Dubbo Country Classic final, we have Group 1 winners scattered throughout the field. I’m looking for some value here as this race has thrown up a variety of results over the years. Thought that TANK KEEPING (3) having drawn inside the favorite in WITHOUT A TRACE (4), could give her a run for her money. If Tank can step and hold out the favorite in the blue, he can lead through the first part of the race and may just be too quick as he showed when winning at Richmond recently. Without A Trace is the obvious danger but she is better suited over further ground, so I’m tipping an upset tonight at odds.
