Greyhound Tips – Saturday 14th March

MAGIC BANDIT (1) has come up with the cherry in this race where she has won twice from previously. The last time she jumped from the rails draw, she got the chocolates over Magical Ang here in 29.89. She should see the arm first, hunt up at the first bend and then she should take some reeling in. Her danger may be BEFORE THE DAWN (5) who was outclassed last start by Jungle Johnny when he broke the track record. If she jumps well from the squeeze, she will test the red.

Experience here at Cannington will count a great deal with ICONIC JET (2) proving too good for them in this year’s Perth Cup final. Last week in the heat, he pinged out of the boxes and bolted in by over 8 lengths in 29.30. He usually starts well, and if he leads, it will take a big effort from a rival to run him down. That dog who may be able to eat into that lead could be the up & comer INTIMIDATION (3), drawn directly outside of The Jet. He is improving weekly; tonight will only be his 13th run, and he did run a solid 29.45 in his heat.

ELECTRIFY (3) had no luck in the early stages after getting squeezed out last week in the heat behind LAMP POST (2) when that pup bounced on the lead and found enough at the finish to hold on to win by 2 lengths. With a lower draw, I feel Electrify will camp right on their heels, more than likely behind his nemesis Lamp Post again and with even luck he should be able to run him down tonight.

ASCEND ECSTATIC (1) has drawn her box tonight and only needs to begin on terms with them here, punch up early and she should take a power of holding off. Last week, she jumped well, just couldn’t get across from the pink box and she went down to Paw Petrov. Looks perfectly placed here to get another win.  Her danger may come from LIGHTNING QUICK (4) who won well here midweek in 34.39 after racing on speed and could find the lead here, although he will need a big lead to hold off the red.
