Would have liked DAPPER CHAP (2) drawn a little wider, but there is a great deal of speed outside of him here and see no reason that he won’t find the lead early. If he does find the top at the first corner, that should be times and margins. He is a very smart pup on the rise and he should go through the grades quickly. ASTON PRATT(8) has been racing over longer distances of late but will be strong to the line and could fill a hole easily.

Tipping on an each-way basis INTREPID BALE (2) to get the gun run in behind the speed here and prove a little too strong for them in the run home. Not flash early but he has an engine when he lets down & just adores an inside box where he can hug the rail throughout. Only needs some luck in the first half of the race and he will be in the finish. FERRET’S KNOCK (6) who showed plenty of fight winning here last week in her heat in sub 30 seconds could find the lead early and be the one to catch, although she can race wide.

UNLEASH SHIRLEY (4) owned by the ole jock in Malcolm Johnston looks a main player in this event tonight. She has had no luck at her past couple of starts here and I feel she should be able to jump on the lure and then run them a merry dance. She has good box manners and usually gives you a good run for your cash. Her danger could come from the red dog in PAST TENSE (1) who won by an ever widening margin last time out at The Gardens over the 515m.
