Special Event The Ashes
Thought there was plenty of merit in the run of BOURNE MODEL (2) last week in winning her heat of The Ashes in 30.49 when she was held out early but had good track sense to dart up on the rail down the back straight and hold them all at bey at the finish. From the stripe box she will get the chance to land on the arm and hold the rail and do the same again. WOODSIDE JOHNNY (3) who ran second to her in that heat, will again be a danger but can be risky at box rise and usually warms up over the final stages.
Mixed Grade 4/5
After coming off a brilliant 3rd in The Phoenix on Saturday night, ACCREDITED (2) gets back to the middle distance where he won two in a row in fine style at The Meadows back in November. He drops significantly in class and he could just about lead this field. If he does get his own way out in front, watch the clock! The very consistent pup in the red URANA XAVIER (1) has been racing well over this course and distance and will appreciate the low draw. He should get a nice run into the race from the stripe and looks his main danger.
5th Grade
ZIPPING LEE (2) has been very consistent of late and has won over this trip three times with a best time of 29.54. Generally a good breaker and once hits the sand, she has a nice turn of paw. She should find the arm first here and she will take plenty of catching from there on. ZIPPING EILISH (6) looks to be her danger, although she would be much better suited to a low draw. She can be a risky beginner who runs on well but will likely be giving the stripe a start.
