1- SLICK SPLITS $4.60

Has taken out two Group 1’s this season, in the Maturity and most recently the Top Gun here in November and then went on to win from this box at Sandown Park in 29.10 leading all the way. From the red box, he does appear to be the one to find the arm first and hold them out to that crucial first corner. If he can run a time under a 29.70, he will prove extremely hard to catch. Must be a winning chance.

2- CUMBRIA JACK $3.20

After winning this year’s National Sprint Final at Q2 Parklands, he went into the Million Dollar Chase series as the favorite but got beaten in his heat surprisingly by My Boy Bingo, after he had no luck at all. Did come out to win the Consolation from this draw the following week. He has had a freshen up and looked good in a trial here recently. Loves the inside draws and should get a gun run in behind the red. Will take plenty of holding off at the finish.

3- CANYA MAYHEM $7.00

Took out the prestigious Melbourne Cup at Sandown Park last start and secured a Group 1 for Jessica Hopkins and the team. Looks well suited in the white box as he steps well and stays a little off the rail, so could put some pressure on the inside dogs early. He does appear as though he will have to lead to win but he is certainly capable, if he gets it all right on the night.

4- DISTINCTION $17.00

A very lightly raced girl only having her 6th start of her career, for four wins to date for the Jason Thompson kennel. This is her first race in town although I’d say she would have trialed here previously. She has fantastic speed once balanced but is taking on some of the best going around and she does look to have the job ahead of her.

5- ERIZA SPARKLES $10.00

A very consistent greyhound who has only missed a cheque twice from her 18 starts. She ran 2nd in the Million Dollar Chase final to Power & Glory and then 2nd to Slick Splits in the Top Gun. She was the winner of the Dapto Megastar back in September and she posses really good early speed. She hasn’t been able to lead at her past couple, which has cost her, but if she happened to land on the arm, she would take some running down at a juicy each-way price.

6- DEADLY AVENGER $8.00

Another from the Jason Thompson team who has found his form again of late. Was the winner of the Perth Cup earlier in the year and has competed against the top liners all year. Ran home powerfully behind Paw Oswald last time out at Sandown Park and looks ready to win soon. This is tough but if he does see any clear air down the back straight, he will be very strong to the line. Could be a blow out chance.

7- MALLEE BEAUTY $4.60

Has been an outstanding greyhound for the Cameron Butcher kennel in South Australia winning 30 of her 41 starts to date. She started a short priced favorite in the Top Gun and even though she drew the red box, that was her kryptonite as she likes room to move. She is perfectly boxed out in the 7 and she should get every chance to take home the biggest prize in greyhound racing. Definitely one of the main players.

8- ACCREDITED $12.00

This boy has been a revelation of late winning a heat of the Melbourne Cup and then had no luck in the final when sent out favorite for the race. He doesn’t look suited drawing the pink but in a very classy race, if there is any trouble going into the first corner, he will be the one carving across with Mallee Beauty and he is one of the strongest dogs in the race. Can run into the money.
