Sandown Park R5 – Melbourne Cup Prelude 9 515m
JARRICK BALE (8) is a dual Group 1 winner who was an impressive winner over the 515m last month. He has a big motor and is capable of powering home. He will be hard to hold out with luck in running. MY NEO (3) has a great winning strike rate and has the early speed to find the rails first. He will give them something to catch.

Sandown Park R6 – Melbourne Cup Prelude 10 515m
ASTON BARAK (1) ran great time when winning on his Sandown Park debut last week from box 4 and will be better for that experience. Drawn perfectly in box 1 tonight he can punch through along the rails and will be hard to catch. He is the clear top pick. PLAINTIFF (4) is a flukey beginner who is capable if he finds the lure. He brings a real x-factor to the race and is the knockout chance.

Sandown Park R9 – G3 Shootout 515m
It might be a small field, but the Group 3 Shootout looks like a very exciting race. SHE’S A PEARLER (1) won the Million Dollar Chase last year and returned to form with a brilliant win at Wenty last start. She looks like the likely leader and will be hard to run down. They won’t catch her! WOW SHE’S FAST (3) is a superstar who has missed the start in her most recent starts and finished well back. She will be suited by the smaller field but the odds-on quote is too short and I’m happy to take her on. The pair can space their rivals.
