STANLEY ROAD is a Group 1 winning stayer who hasn’t had much luck at his most recent runs. With his main danger scratched tonight, he should have no problems weaving through the field and powering past his rivals late. He is in a different class! DRAKO BALE (7) has been racing consistently in easier grade and can find the early lead. He will give them something to chase and can add some value into exotics.

Sandown Park R5 – Melbourne Cup Heat 1 515m
KOBLENZ (2) is airborne at present with seven wins from his last eight runs and was very impressive at his last start where he ran away from his rivals after leading. A brilliant beginner, he looks bombproof. IMMUNITY (1) has had no luck recently but is drawn to get all the favours from box 1 tonight. He is the knockout chance.

Sandown Park R8 – Melbourne Cup Heat 4 515m
The superstar ASTON RUPEE (3) has won a Group 1 and Group 3 at his most recent runs and should have no problem getting the prize. He has the speed to lead and can put a space on them down the back straight. Bad luck looks like his main danger. FERNANDO BLUEY (4) has the speed to go with the favourite early and can hold on for the quinella spot.
