The 2024-25 Premier League season kicks on into Matchday 35, and we’re here with five top-shelf EPL tips for the weekend ahead.
Manchester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Both teams are flying towards the end of the EPL season, but not every good period of play is created equal.
It’s been a strange season for Manchester City. Their aging midfield became exposed early, the worst period in years took them out of the title race, and they’re left it late in the season to secure a Champions League spot. Still, Pep Guardiola’s side is coming good at the right time to have won each of their last three in the EPL. Meanwhile, Wolves look like a different team under Vitor Pereira. In fact, only Newcastle and Liverpool have won more games since he took over, and they’re coming into this one on the back of a six-match winning streak.
But while six wins on the bounce looks impressive on the form guide, Wolves haven’t claimed a point against a Top 5 team in the league.
This is a significant test, and City is at its best right now. Expect them to stamp their authority on this one and use their dominance in possession to starve Wolves—Matheus Cunha, in particular—of opportunities.

Get ready for goals in this one.
Everton has made significant strides under David Moyes. It hasn’t always come with the ball. They’ve scored only one goal in five of their last seven games, going scoreless in the other two. However, they’re against a side giving up 2.1 goals per game in this one.
Despite being relegated last week, we might start to see the best of Ipswich. They created headlines for their exciting style of play in the Championship last season. That hasn’t transpired over to the EPL, but it may do now that they have nothing to lose.
It’s the penultimate game at Goodison Park. Emotions are already running high. With Ipswich one of the most red-carded teams in the Premier League and, again, with nothing to lose, those emotions should translate into goals in some form or another.

With relegation already locked in, neither team has much to play for to finish the EPL season. However, Southampton still needs to pick up a win to avoid becoming the worst team in Premier League history alongside Derby (2008).
As you’d expect between two poor teams, there aren’t a lot of numbers to go on heading into this one. Positively for Southampton, though, is that they’ve scored in seven of their last eight away fixtures. Leicester, meanwhile, have famously gone nine home matches without a goal…

We’re not always presented with great opportunities to back Saints goal scorers, but with the threat of an infamous reputation to play for, expect them to have a little bit more energy in this one.
Kamaldeen Sulemana hasn’t been afraid to fire a shot recently. He’s attempted 11 cracks at the goal in his last four matches. With his quick feet and ability to beat defenders one-on-one, the Ghanaian presents as a good option in a game that lacks quality overall.

It hasn’t been uncommon to see Aston Villa struggle through periods of multiple matches in quick succession. They lost to Manchester City in their last EPL match and were humbled 3-0 by Crystal Palace in their FA Cup semi-final. But with a week to rest and recover, Villa should bounce into this one with a Champions League spot on the line.
They’re at Villa Park, where they’ve lost only once all season and have won 10 of their last 13 in all competitions. Villa boast a strong record against Fulham following five wins on the bounce, too.

Villa has already beaten Fulham 3-1 this season. They look set to extend Fulham’s poor run, in which they’ve lost four of their last six in all competitions.
The scoring power of the home side looks too strong here. They’ve scored at least three goals in six of their last eight matches in all competitions and in three of their last four. While Fulham have provided the odd glimpse of quality, Aston Villa have too much to play for in this one.

The EPL title is gone and Arsenal find themselves 1-0 behind PSG in their Champions League semi final. They’re unbeaten in their last seven games, but could look to rotate through the squad with the second leg in mind. While an understrength Arsenal side is still a strong one, it leaves the early value with the opposition.
Home field advantage might not be a greatest help either.
Bournemouth have been in fine form on the road all season. Only the top two teams have lost fewer games away from home than the Cherries. They have a top-half finish and possible European football to play for in this one, too.

Despite the possibility of a rotated Arsenal squad and Bournemouth’s form on the road, this game screams draw. Bournemouth may be unbeaten in their last four, but have won just one of their last eight. They could pinch a point here as Mikel Arteta puts his focus elsewhere.
