The 2025-26 Premier League season kicks on into Matchday 34, and we’re here with five top-shelf EPL tips for the weekend ahead.
Arsenal v Newcastle
It’s come later than most anticipated. It’s come later than any time in EPL history. But Arsenal have well and truly started their bottle job and loosened what should have been a tight grip on the trophy by now.
Following their loss to Manchester City on Matchday 33 and City’s Matchday 34 win over Burnley, the Gunners are second on the EPL table on goal difference.

Not only do they need to win their games from here, but they also need to win one or two well. Lucky for them, they face a middling Newcastle United with little to play for in this one.
Eddie Howe’s men have lost three league games in a row, and the manager is under pressure to keep his job beyond this week. Another loss here would likely be the nail in the coffin.
Tactically, Arsenal’s attack – the second most prolific in the EPL this season with 63 goals – will cause all sorts of trouble for a vulnerable Newcastle defence. Having won three of the last four fixtures between the two clubs, expect the Gunners to make it four from five to keep their title hopes alive.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur
This is the day…
Tottenham are going to win their first Premier League match in 2026, in late April.
Awful all season, Spurs have caught a break in the schedule. They’re drawn Wolverhampton Wanderers, already playing out a historically bad season for an abysmal -37 goal difference, a week after their relegation to the Championship has been confirmed.
Spurs have never needed a win more than they do now, and have been gifted the ideal opponent.

While they conceded a late goal to finish level last week, there is no denying the improvement. Roberto De Zerbi has inspired something out of this group. They looked more eager, more aggressive and frustratingly desperate months after that desperation should have set in.
The quality of the Tottenham squad is too good to be running 18th. It’s far too good to lose to a team that hasn’t won in 19 matches. If they can’t collect all three points here, Tottenham doesn’t deserve to stay up.
Fulham v Aston Villa
Aston Villa have managed to maintain strong form throughout the Premier League season to sit 4th on 58 points at the pointy end. Champions League football is a significant motivation heading into Matchday 34. Fulham, on the other hand, are in the wind-down period. They’re at a safe 12th on the table but with little other than pride at stake.
Fulham’s inconsistent form is perfectly captured in their two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six matches.
Having picked up seven of their last nine available points, Villa carry momentum into this one. They’re ruthless across the full 90 minutes to have scored in the final 10 minutes in four of their last five.
Ollie Watkins is spearheading the Aston Villa attack to have scored 11 goals this season. His 13.33 expected goals are good for 5th in the Premier League. He should be enough on his own to trouble a Fulham defence that will need to be flawless to claim all three points.

Manchester United v Brentford
Motivation is a massive consideration at this point in the EPL season. The teams at the top and bottom have plenty to play for, but those in the middle are limping through to the finish.
For Manchester United, they have Champions League football within reach. They should claim it from here, but at only six points in front of sixth on the table, they can’t afford to take their foot off the gas. While Brentford have performed well in attack all season, they face a different beast at Old Trafford.
United have been a force at home to boast the best expected goals rate in the EPL at 2.00 xG per game. They have won four of their last five matches on home soil, averaging 2.06 points and 1.94 goals per game. The home crowd is behind Michael Carrick as manager and provides the playing group with a boost on the day.

Coming into this one on the back of a hearty 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the Red Devils look set to cement their spot in the Champions League places by claiming all three points at home.

Sunderland v Nottingham Forest
Continuing on the motivation analysis, there is no splitting Sunderland and Nottingham Forest in this one.
Sunderland can still claim a finish in the top-10 despite their poor run of form recently. They’ve lost two of their last four matches to slip down the table late in the season. Meanwhile, the Tricky Trees are desperately trying to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone. They will start Matchday 34 only five points ahead of Tottenham, but are unbeaten in their last five.
This match feels like one both sides will be looking to avoid defeat more than winning. Sunderland’s form isn’t peaking, but they do have the advantage of playing at the Stadium of Light. Forest, while not stellar, have been consistent of late to record three draws in their last five. It’s difficult to split two teams who will both be relatively happy with a point.
