The 2025-26 Premier League season kicks on into Matchday 37, and we’re here with five top-shelf EPL tips for the weekend ahead.
Aston Villa v Liverpool
It’s not always easy to find angles at this point of the EPL season, but history, genuine scoring and scheduling play into Liverpool taking all three points against Aston Villa.
It’s a fixture Liverpool has dominated historically. The two clubs have met 16 times in the Premier League since 2015, with Liverpool claiming 12 wins to Villa’s single victory. That win came all the way back in 2020, too. More recently, Liverpool have gone unbeaten against Villa in their last five fixtures across all competitions.
Overall, the Liverpool attack should prove to be too strong on the day. They’ve scored 60 goals to Aston Villa’s 50 this season and have displayed promising enough periods recently.
Unai Emery’s side haven’t been at their best recently, and a congested schedule has surely played a part. It continues to do so with a Europa League final against SC Freiburg to come next week. With one eye already on Europe and squad rotation likely, expect Liverpool to bounce in on extended rest and take advantage of a distracted Villa. To boost the likelihood of goals, Liverpool have scored 2+ in 10 of their last 11 EPL away games at Aston Villa.

Everton v Sunderland
There is a dear-rubber effect to this match already, before considering the struggles Everton and Sunderland have in front of goal. Each of their last six meetings has seen Under 3.5 goals, and we’re going down one further.
The two have played each other twice this campaign for a pair of 1-1 draws. Both are trending towards low-scoring matches on form, too. Sunderland will take a lot of confidence out of neutralising Manchester United’s attack to play out a 0-0 draw last week. Everton, however, is winless in their last five matches.
Against an out-of-form Everton and with only Arsenal, Manchester City and Crystal Palace keeping more clean sheets, Sunderland are a good chance at another in a low-scoring encounter.

Bournemouth v Manchester City
Bournemouth are riding a 16-game unbeaten streak into this one, but we’re backing Manchester City to keep the pressure on Arsenal here.
They enter this critical fixture only two points behind the Gunners on the EPL table, and a win keeps them in the hunt for the title on the final day. Pep Guardiola’s side won’t leave any stone unturned in their quest to stay in the hunt. They should make it 15 games unbeaten in a row here, too.
City has been dominant for the most part. They’re scoring plenty of goals to have nine in their last three matches, and have a Bournemouth defence that isn’t particularly strong in front of them here. The Cherries have found success against the big clubs and have played out an impressive season. However, it’s been an all-out attack. Their defence ranks 15th in the EPL after conceding 52 goals and faces a tough task of keeping this high-powered City attack from finding the net.
With everything to play for and a positive stylistic matchup, look for City to extend the title race for another week with three points here.

Fulham v Wolves
Try as they might, Wolverhampton Wanderers aren’t at a Premier League standard. They’ve shown plenty of fight. Even with relegation confirmed, they’ve not taken a backward step. However, they start every game on such a back foot that they’ve failed to score in 19 EPL matches this season.
Fulham suffered a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth last week in a frustrating afternoon at Craven Cottage.

This is a prime get-right spot for Fulham, though. They have the far superior squad and have impressed all season. With the opportunity to finish in the top half with a gift them points here, expect them to take it.
Chelsea v Tottenham
While there is a significant gap between the two on the EPL table, both Chelsea and Tottenham have been disappointing this season. Chelsea started the season with hope and even had themselves in the very early title conversation. Tottenham, meanwhile, could surely only improve on their disastrous 2024-25 Premier League campaign. In the end, Chelsea is struggling to make the European-bound spots on the table while Tottenham are deep into a relegation fight.
Chelsea have moved on two managers this season and are on the hunt for their next. The playing group is under pressure to get the fan base back on side. One way to do that is to relegate their London rivals.
Spurs have made their job more difficult than it needed to be after failing to keep their 1-0 lead over Leeds United last week. While much improved, on the field under Roberto De Zerbi, it’s for nothing without results.
James Maddison’s return will help whether or not he sees significant time on the pitch. However, he doesn’t particularly help their defence. Tottenham’s inability to close out games is why they’re in the position. Last week against Leeds is another prime example. The pressure only builds the longer the game goes, and they can’t afford to sit back. In the expectation that they open up and play somewhat aggressively, expect goals either way.
