Five best bets for Matchweek 25

Looking ahead to Matchweek 25 of the 2023/24 EPL season, we break down the five best bets for the weekend of Premier League action.

1.  Manchester City -1.0 vs Chelsea @ $1.95

City are humming. With arguably their two most influential players in Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne back on the park and hitting the scoreboard, they look as dangerous as ever in their bid for a record fourth straight EPL title. And while Chelsea have had some positive results in the last week — including away wins at Villa and Palace that will do wonders for their confidence — they’re still no match for City on home soil. Backing Pep Guardiola’s men to get it done by two or more goals.

2. Rasmus Hojlund (MUN) anytime goalscorer vs Luton @ $2.20

After taking so long to break his league scoring duck, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has really proven that when it rains, it pours. His maiden EPL goal against Aston Villa in December has sparked a run of five goals in five appearances. In fact, having just turned 21, Hojlund is the second-youngest ever player to score in five successive Premier League appearances, only behind Nicolas Anelka (when he was 19) for Arsenal in 1998. Backing him to make it six, away to Luton this weekend.

Bet Now Luton vs Man United

3. Newcastle & Over 2.5 goals vs Bournemouth @ $2.30

With three wins and a draw in their last four, Newcastle had hit their straps in recent weeks. Victory away at Nottingham Forest last weekend is a huge confidence booster for Eddie Howe’s men, and the recent run of results halts the free-fall they’d been experiencing. The Magpies are leaking goals, however, having conceded 17 goals in their last six EPL games. So while I’m backing them to get the win here at home, there’s every chance Bournemouth get on the scoreboard too.

Bet Now Newcastle vs Bournemouth

4. Arsenal and Over 2.5 goals vs Burnley @ $1.82

Across all competitions, Burnley have won just once at home this season — and that was against bottom-placed Sheffield United. Still seven points from safety, Vincent Kompany’s men are relegation-bound unless they turned things around quickly. Sadly for them, though, it’s unlikely to come this weekend as they face an in-form Arsenal side still on a high after their 6-0 rout of West Ham away from home. While Man City are deserved title favourites given their exploits in recent years, the Gunners are right in amongst it and should chalk off another relatively comfortable three points here.

5. Nottingham Forest H2H vs West Ham @ $2.35

Forest were unlucky not to get something from their 3-2 loss to Newcastle last weekend, and unlucky not to take the points against Bournemouth before that. Staying on home turf, and welcoming a sad and sorry West Ham side fresh off a 6-0 battering at the hands of Arsenal last weekend — their joint-heaviest ever home league defeat — Nuno Espírito Santo’s men are in a great position to take a much-needed three points.
