Enzo Fernandez scored one and setup another to lead Chelsea to a hard-fought 2-0 win over Fulham to start Matchday 3 of the 2025-26 EPL season. It leaves Chelsea unbeaten at Stamford Bridge in 2025 with nine wins and three draws.
Bruno Fernandes scored a late winner to secure Manchester United’s much-needed 3-2 win over Burnley at Old Trafford. Fernandes missed from the spot last week but released some pressure on Ruben Amorim in the seventh minute of added time.
Sunderland’s impressive start to the EPL season has continued following a late fightback against Brentford. The newly-promoted side trailed 1-0 in the 81st minute before two goals in 14 minutes earned them all three points.

Tottenham Hotspur, like they have so often done in the past, produced a poor performance just as expectations started to rise. Their winning start to the season came undone after Evanilson silenced the home crowd in the fifth minute. Bournemouth managed to hang on to the 1-0 victory and hand Thomas Frank his first EPL defeat in charge at Spurs. Meanwhile, David Moyes picked up his 542nd win as Everton manager across his two stints in beating Wolves 3-2.
There would be no such entertainment late in the day as Leeds and Newcastle played out a 0-0 draw. The 0.48 expected goals will surely worry Newcastle as they wave Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
Brighton & Hove Albion stunned Manchester City to win 2-1 at home. James Milner scored his first Brighton goal before Kaoru Mitoma played in Gruda to score the winner. It marks back-to-back defeats for Pep Guardiola’s City who already find themselves six points behind Liverpool at the top.
Liverpool needed a Dominik Szoboszlai stunner in the 83rd minute to beat Arsenal and extend their lead at the top.

Three goals in the final six minutes of the game allowed Graham Potter to pat himself on the back as West Ham beat Nottingham Forest 3-0.

Lastly, Crystal Palace made the most of their opportunities to beat Aston Villa 3-0. While only managing six shots, Palace finished with three goals and a 2.67xG compared with Villa’s 1.13 xG on 13 shots.

Will Amorim Last The Break?
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim appeared to all but demand he be sacked following their stunning loss to Grimsby Town during the week. It’s the most embarrassing result in club history and left Amorim scrambling ahead of their Matchday 3 fixture against Burnley.
While United picked up the points and released some pressure, the board meetings in the coming days won’t be able to ignore the fact they needed a 97th minute penalty to beat a newly-promoted team. They needed their fourth-latest winning goal since at least 2006-07, and second-latest at home, to beat a side that shouldn’t really be within touching distance.
All of this after a result during the week that had many United fans demanding change then and there.
So, will Amorim last the International Break? If they’re to move him on, it needs to be now. This season can still be somewhat salvaged should they find form in the lead up to Christmas. It’s whether or not the board believe Amorim can be the one to inspire it.
Grealish Grinning
Jack Grealish is on fire.
He made reference to the freedom he’s playing with after dishing out two assists last week:
“I felt really good. It was nice. I don’t want to get into saying I didn’t feel free before [at Manchester City]. Out there I could drift, I could do what I want more or less and play with a bit of freedom, take more risks. I feel like I have done that.” – Jack Grealish
He bagged another two against Wolves to become the first Everton player to assist on 2+ goals in consecutive EPL matches.
His numbers stood out across the field. The Englishman finished with the most touches in the opposition box in the match (8) while winning a game-high 13 of his 17 duels. Grealish should have scored one himself as well among his 60 touches and 35 passes (91.4% accuracy).

A second strong performance in as many weeks has impressed his new manager:
“He is even better than I thought.”
“He is making a big difference. Whether it is his assists, his presence, lots of things. “So all credit to him. He is playing the minutes he may not have had in recent years. “You know, he’s so good. What Jack gives us is something just on the edge, which, hopefully it’s on the edge of creativeness and maybe scoring goals.”
With back-to-back wins to be 5th on the EPL table, Everton are into $2.10 to finish in the top half of the league.
Liverpool’s Dominance On & Off The Field
Liverpool got the win and finally got their man over the weekend.
On the field, Arne Slot’s side claimed a 1-0 win over Arsenal. While it was far from impressive, that is what is most encouraging. Liverpool sit at the top of the EPL table with three wins despite not playing particularly well to start the season as they bed in new players.

Following a month of turmoil and negotiations, Liverpool have reportedly secured Alexander Isak ahead of Deadline Day. The Newcastle striker is arguably the best in Europe and provides Slot with more fire power up front. It’s particularly timely given how out-of-sorts Mo Salah looked over the weekend.
