EPL Tips – Tottenham Hotspur V Burnley

21:00 (AEST), Sun 15th May @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

History: Played 121: Tottenham 51 V Burnley 42 (28 Draws)

Last meeting: February 23, 2022 (EPL): Burnley 1 d Tottenham 0 at Turf Moor

Final Thoughts: Tottenham back up less than three days after their spectacular North London derby victory that has turned the top-four race on its head. Fifth-placed Spurs whipped a 10-man Arsenal 3-0 – with Harry Kane scoring twice in the first half and Son Heung-min getting one after the break – to close the gap between the clubs to one point.

Burnley are 17th and only outside the relegation zone on goal differential, but they have a game in hand over 18th-placed Leeds. Their invaluable three-game winning streak was halted in a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa last weekend.

Burnley bagged a 1-0 upset at Turf Moor when the clubs met in February, Ben Mee’s 71st-minute goal proving the difference. The Clarets haven’t won at Tottenham since 1983, however.

Spurs’ short turnaround gives Burnley a chance of at least nabbing a point in what is an enormously important match for both clubs. But Tottenham’s firepower should win the day.

Best Bet: Handicap – Tottenham -1 @ $1.91

Same Game Multi: Total – Over 2.5; Tottenham Win Both Halves; Anytime Goalscorer – Harry Kane; Anytime Goalscorer – Son Heung-min @ $5.89

EPL Tips – Wolverhampton Wanderers V Norwich City

23:00 (AEST), Sun 15th May @ Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

History: Played 63: Wolverhampton 32 V Norwich 14 (17 Draws)

Last meeting: February 5, 2022 (FA Cup): Norwich 1 d Wolverhampton 0 at Molineux Stadium

Final Thoughts: An uninspiring fixture at Molineux Stadium, with eighth-placed Wolverhampton and last-placed Norwich only capable of moving up one spot in the last fortnight of the season.

Wolves have managed just one point from their last five games, following up last weekend’s 2-all draw at Chelsea with a 5-1 home loss to Man City midweek. Norwich have lost five straight and have not scored for four games, going down 3-0 at Leicester midweek.

The teams played out a scoreless draw in Week 13, while Norwich bundled Wolves out of the FA Cup 1-0 in February.

But Wolverhampton should at least produce some spirit in their last home game of an improved campaign and take the three points.

Best Bet: Half-time/Full-time – Wolverhampton/Wolverhampton @ $2.10

Same Game Multi: Wolverhampton To Win To Nil; Anytime Goalscorer – Raul Jiminez @ $3.78

EPL Tips – West Ham United V Manchester City

23:00 (AEST), Sun 15th May @ London Stadium, London

History: Played 116: Man City 60 V West Ham 38 (18 Draws)

Last meeting: November 28, 2021 (EPL): Man City 2 d West Ham 1 at Etihad Stadium

Final Thoughts: Manchester City have a three-point lead in the EPL title race and will all but seal back-to-back crowns with a win here. The Citizens have kept Liverpool at arm’s length with five straight wins, scoring 22 goals and conceded just two. Kevin de Bruyne put four goals past Wolverhampton in a 5-1 thrashing midweek.

Seventh-placed West Ham have the opportunity to grab a Europa League spot if they can run down Man United over the last two rounds. The Irons ended a four-match winless run with a 4-0 rout of Norwich last weekend with Said Benrahma scoring a first-half brace.

West Ham are winless in their last 12 Premier League clashes with Man City, who got up 2-1 at home in Week 13 thanks to goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho.

City have injury problems in their defensive contingent with Aymeric Laporte potentially joining Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias and John Stones on the sidelines. But their blistering attacking form will take care of any deficiencies at the back against a West Ham side that has been pretty poor of late overall.

Best Bet: Handicap – Man City -1 @ $2.00

Same Game Multi: Result – Man City; Total – Over 3.5; Both Teams To Score; Anytime Goalscorer – Raheem Sterling @ $7.40

EPL Tips – Watford V Leicester City

23:00 (AEST), Sun 15th May @ Vicarage Road, Watford

History: Played 71: Leicester 32 V Watford 21 (18 Draws)

Last meeting: January 8, 2022 (FA Cup): Leicester 4 d Watford 1 at King Power Stadium

Final Thoughts: Leicester City are looking to cement a top-half finish, while Championship-bound Watford are hoping to ensure they don’t finish last.

Leicester ended a five-match winless streak with a 3-0 drubbing of Norwich midweek, Jamie Vardy scoring twice and James Maddison sealing the result after a scoreless first half. Watford’s scoreless draw with Everton midweek halted a six-match losing run.

Leicester have piled on eight goals in their last two clashes with Watford – a 4-2 EPL win in Week 13 and a 4-1 FA Cup drubbing in January, both at King Power Stadium. But Watford boast three wins and a draw in their last four against the Foxes at Vicarage Road.

Though it’s been a disappointing campaign and Leicester are winless in their last five on the road, the visitors look well over the odds here.

Best Bet: Result – Leicester @ $2.00

Same Game Multi: Leicester To Win To Nil; Anytime Goalscorer – Jamie Vardy @ $5.16

EPL Tips – Leeds United V Brighton and Hove Albion

23:00 (AEST), Sun 15th May @ Elland Road, Leeds

History: Played 48: Leeds 18 V Brighton 18 (12 Draws)

Last meeting: November 27, 2021 (EPL): 0-0 draw at Amex Stadium

Final Thoughts: The situation is desperate for Leeds. Two games to play, 18th on the ladder and level with 17th-placed Burnley, who have three games left and an irretrievably superior goal differential. After a bright five-game unbeaten run, Leeds have lost three straight to top-four heavyweights Man City (4-0), Arsenal (2-1) and Chelsea (3-0).

Ninth-placed Brighton are merely trying to hold onto their top-half standing and maybe move up a spot before the end of the season. But they are in great form, with just one loss – to Man City – in their last seven games. They pounded Wolves (3-0) and Man United (4-0) in their last two games, with Leandro Troussard getting on the board in both.

Brighton have won eight of their last 10 against Leeds, but the teams drew nil-all at Amex Stadium in Week 13.

The fact Leeds are at home and absolutely must get something from this fixture is not enough to justify them as near even-money favourites on a short turnaround against a side playing outstandingly well.

Best Bet: Result – Brighton @ $2.50

Same Game Multi: Handicap – Brighton -1; Total – Over 2.5; Anytime Goalscorer – Leandro Troussard @ $15.93

EPL Tips – Aston Villa V Crystal Palace

23:00 (AEST), Sun 15th May @ Villa Park, Birmingham

History: Played 48: Aston Villa 21 V Crystal Palace 13 (14 Draws)

Last meeting: November 27, 2021 (EPL): Aston Villa 2 d Crystal Palace 1 at Selhurst Park

Final Thoughts: Two bottom-half teams looking to finish with a flourish lock horns at Villa Park, with 11th-placed Crystal Palace travelling to take on 12th-placed Aston Villa.

Aston Villa held their own in a 2-1 loss to Liverpool midweek, after notching two wins and a draw against less illustrious opposition in their previous three games. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have bagged back-to-back wins for just the second time this season against Southampton and Watford, and boast five wins and three draws from their last 10 games.

Aston Villa scored a goal in each half to grab a 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace in Week 13. I can see the fresher Eagles turning the tables on the road, but this should be an entertaining showdown.

Best Bet: Handicap – Crystal Palace +1 @ $1.80

Same Game Multi: Total – Over 2.5; Anytime Goalscorer – Danny Ings; Anytime Goalscorer – Wilfried Zaha @ $8.79

EPL Tips – Everton V Brentford

01:30 (AEST), Mon 16th May @ Goodison Park, Liverpool

History: Played 19: Brentford 9 V Everton 8 (2 Draws)

Last meeting: February 5, 2022 (FA Cup): Everton 4 d Brentford 1 at Goodison Park

Final Thoughts: Everton are close to extricating themselves from a relegation nightmare – but they’re not quite out of the woods. In 16th spot with a two-point lead over Burnley and Leeds, the Toffees have managed three wins and two draws (including an uninspiring scoreless stalemate at Watford midweek) from their past six games.

But 13th-placed Brentford have been in great touch over the past couple of months and still have designs on a top half finish in their promotion season. The Bees have won six (including a thrashing of Chelsea) and drawn one (with Spurs) of their last nine games, including a 3-0 beatdown of Southampton last weekend.

Everton powered to a 4-1 home win over Brentford in Week 13 thanks to three goals in the second half. The Bees, though, take real confidence and momentum into this clash and are hard to resist as a $3.50 underdog.

Best Bet: Result – Brentford @ $3.50

Same Game Multi: Handicap – Brentford +1; Anytime Goalscorer – Richarlison; Anytime Goalscorer – Ivan Toney @ $8.83

EPL Tips – Newcastle United V Arsenal

05:00 (AEST), Tue 17th May @ St James’ Park, Newcastle

History: Played 188: Arsenal 83 V Newcastle 67 (38 Draws)

Last meeting: November 27, 2021 (EPL): Arsenal 2 d Newcastle 0 at Emirates Stadium

Final Thoughts: Arsenal’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham on Friday (AEST) has rendered this match a virtual must-win – especially if Spurs put away Burnley earlier in the round. The fourth-placed Gunners are now just one point ahead of Spurs after Robert Holding’s first-half red card contributed to an emphatic end to their four-match winning streak.

Newcastle are coming off back-to-back losses to Liverpool (1-0) and Man City (5-0), which were preceded by four consecutive wins. The Magpies are 14th but only two points off the top half.

Arsenal have won 18 of their last 19 against Newcastle – including the last six straight to nil. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli scored second-half goals in a 2-0 Gunners home victory in Week 13.

Despite the jarring nature of the loss to Tottenham, expect Arsenal to bounce back and be in box-seat for a Champions League spot with a game to play.

Best Bet: Result – Arsenal @ $1.91

Same Game Multi: Handicap – Arsenal -1; Anytime Goalscorer – Bukayo Saka @ $7.18

EPL Tips – Southampton V Liverpool

04:45 (AEST), Wed 18th May @ St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton

History: Played 115: Liverpool 59 V Southampton 31 (25 Draws)

Last meeting: November 27, 2021 (EPL): Liverpool 4 d Southampton 0 at Anfield

Final Thoughts: Liverpool’s valiant title bid looks set to fall just short, despite stretching their unbeaten run (which includes 14 wins) to 17 matches. They overcame a plucky Aston Villa 2-1 on the road midweek. The Reds will be on a short turnaround from their FA Cup final showdown with Chelsea.

Southampton are fortunate the season isn’t a few weeks longer, otherwise they could be in relegation danger. The 15th-placed Saints have managed just one win (albeit against Arsenal) and two draws in their last 10 games, crashing 3-0 at Brentford last week.

Liverpool have won eight of their last nine against Southampton – including six wins to nil. Diogo Jota scored a first-half brace in their 4-0 victory at Anfield in Week 13.

Though potentially leg-weary, Liverpool appear likely to put a decent score in the struggling Saints again.

Best Bet: Handicap – Liverpool -1 @ $2.00

Same Game Multi: Liverpool Win Both Halves; Handicap – Liverpool -2; Anytime Goalscorer – Diogo Jota @ $7.89
