Matchweek 15 of the 2022-23 EPL season saw Newcastle’s amazing run continue, Arsenal march on, and a Mo Salah special drag Liverpool back.
Here’s how it looked for punters:
Fine side on Tyneside
Another week, another win for the indomitable Newcastle United, this time in the EPL’s longest away trip. The side travelled right down south to Southampton and delivered, again, as $1.84 favourites. Paraguay forward Miguel Almiron continued his scoring streak with an incredible seventh goal in seven games. Once a figure of derision, Almiron is now on of the club’s biggest assets. But his goal to kick things off at St Mary’s was only getting the Magpies started. While they were favoured to get the job done away from home, the margin at the final whistle was not expected. Eddie Howe’s men were $6.80 pre-game with a -2.0 handicap, and a Bruno Guimares stunner on the stroke of full-time ensured they would run out 4-1 winners.

Gunners pass yet another test
Another club who started the season as Top 4 outsiders — but who are now almost unbackable $1.04 hopes — threw down yet another impressive marker in Matchweek 15 to maintain their spot atop the EPL table. Arsenal were marginal $2.50 favourites away from home to Chelsea (not a price that was expected even two months ago) and dutifully got the job done. Gabriel scored the one and only goal for the clash, delivering a healthy $23 for any brave first goalscorer punters. Yet again, like they did against both Liverpool and Spurs, the Gunners stood up in a huge test.
In any other year, they might be shorter title hopes given they’re every chance to be top of the EPL table at the FIFA World Cup break. But such is the power of Manchester City, Arsenal remain at $5.50. Still, it’s a huge move given they started the season at $34 with Palmerbet.

Salah special gets Reds back on track
If there was going to be one player to drag Liverpool from their slumber, it was always going to Mo Salah. Two moments of class proved the difference in their 2-1 win over Spurs away, after starting as $2.00 favourites. Punters who backed Salah to bag two for the game at $8.10 with Palmerbet could sit back and relax, with the Egyptian scoring a brace before half-time. And boy was it needed for Liverpool, who bounced back after two straight defeats to lowly opponents. Three points shortens their EPL Top 4 hopes from $2.00 into $1.62.
To be a successful side you need players who can step up when it counts. Salah is the epitome of this for the Reds:
