CAULFIELD RACE 6 (1200m) 4:20 pm

STEPARTY resumes from a spell after a gallant third in the Caulfield Guineas last spring. He jumped out nicely at Stawell a fortnight ago and he looks to have come back into work nicely. His target will be the Australian Guineas, so this should be a nice way to start off his new campaign. Definitely the one to beat.

John Dillon Stakes (Friday)

CAULFIELD RACE 7 (1400m) 5:00 pm

If Celine Gaudray can get BUFFALO RIVER to settle just in behind the speed, he should be able to kick away on straightening and as has been shown in the past, he’s a tough cookie to get by. First-up form is good too, so a little each way wont go astray.

ASCOT RACE 5 (1800m) 3:40 pm

AUTUMN REBEL appears to be the best of the card at Ascot today. This three-year-old colt is racing in fine fettle and the 1800m will be perfect for him at this stage of his preparation. Should prove very hard to hold out.

THE VALLEY RACE 10 (1200m) 5:40 pm

PEREILLE has had a couple of looks at the track for a win and a second last year. His win was very impressive, rounding them up from the corner and sprinting away for the prize. He looks to have come back very well, running home hard last time out at Rosehill and should be very hard to toss in the last.

SUNSHINE COAST RACE 8 (1400m) 4:32 pm

Like the look of ESSONNE here in the Sunshine Coast Cup. She is one of the few that is suited to the 1400m in this race. She performed well down in Melbourne over the spring and then was not beaten far in her two appearances back in Queensland late in the year. At decent odds at the moment I will be having an each way play on her.
