Platinum Showdown

CAULFIELD Race 8 (1200m) 3:55 pm

BOLD BASTILLE looks the one they will have to beat here in the Showdown. Raced really well throughout the preludes and has put up a picket fence recently winning as she has liked. Luke Currie should be able to find the lead and dictate terms from there. She should be winning this million dollar affair.

Gold Dash

CAULFIELD Race 9 (1200m) 4:30 pm

Do like the look of HEDGED here in the Gold Dash. He only finished 4 lengths behind Estriella down the straight at Flemington then was out-bobbed on the line by Joliestar a fortnight ago at Randwick. Although he has the top weight here, he has earned that and is racing like the 1400m will suit perfectly. Get on board.

ASCOT Race 4 (1200m) 1:41 pm

The impressive MALKAR PINDARI looks extremely hard to beat. This lightly raced four-years-old mare has a really big engine when let down. I can see her sitting one out – midfield and coming wide on the corner, with Chris Parnham allowing her to just go through her gears and running all over this small field.

ASCOT Race 9 (1600m) 4:50 pm

DESENNA has worked to the line nicely in her last two starts and the step up to the mile here looks a perfect assignment for her third-up from spell. William Pike jumps aboard and he takes beating.

Brisbane Mile

EAGLE FARM Race 8 (1600m) 3:47 pm

Hopefully we will see the best of JIMMYSTAR here at Eagle Farm. He missed the run last week with the abandonment of the Randwick card and had no luck in the Newcastle Stakes prior. Drawn well here, he should be able to sit just off the speed and with clear air down the running, we should see him finishing all over them.
