DOOMBEN 10000

Doomben Race 8 (1200m) 4:02 pm

Hard to go past I WISH I WIN in the Doomben 10,000. He has drawn perfectly in barrier 1 and although will be back on the rail, the small field will suit and all he will need is some luck approaching the corner. If he sees clear air in the straight, he will be hard to hold out.

ROUGH HABIT PLATE

Doomben Race 9 (2000m) 4:38 pm

AUTUMN ANGEL coming off her impressive ATC Oaks win at Randwick last time out. She has been freshened since winning and only needs to bring that form to Queensland to get away with this.

ANDREW RAMSDEN

Flemington Race 8 (2800m) 3:30 pm

The last start Adelaide Cup winner in THE MAP should be hard to beat in the Andrew Ramsden. He won at this track and distance at last year’s spring carnival and this race doesn’t look any harder than he has been facing recently. Damian Lane replaces Jamie Kah and from inside gate he should get all the favours.

BM78 HANDICAP

Flemington Race 3 (1200m) 12:30 pm

WAKANJEJA comes into this race after a solid fifth first-up at Caulfield last time out. This four-year-old mare has won twice second-up previously and looks extremely well suited to the straight track of the Flemington 1200m. Will likely get back and be the one storming home late.

BELMONT SPRINT

Belmont Park Race 8 (1400m) 4:20 pm

WESTERN EMPIRE was ultra impressive winning last time out at Northam coming from back in the field and winning with his head on his chest. Drawn wide here, he will drop out and hopefully William Pike can get a tail to follow and be too strong for them over final stages.
