MOIR STAKES
Like the look of LADY OF CAMELOT in the Moir Stakes over the 1000m at The Valley. She won a recent trial against Giga Kick at Randwick and showed a fine turn of hoof in that trial. She won the Golden Slipper last season and looks well suited here with only 50kgs. She should prove the one they have to catch.
SO YOU THINK STAKES
PERICLES will be all the fitter for that first up run in the P.B.Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield when finished third. Has never finished further back than second in all his second-up runs and the form has stacked up nicely with Pinstriped coming out and winning last week. This really does look like his race.
CLASS 3 PLATE
HELLUVA BARTY looks the one they will have to beat to win the third race at Doomben. He has won three from four races at the track and won twice fresh, so ticks a lot of boxes. The lightly raced five-year-old gelding has had two trials in preparation for his return and looks ready for another first up win.
OPEN HANDICAP
Will be having something each-way on PLUNDERING at nice odds. Forget he went around last time at Ipswich when he never saw daylight at any time in the straight and drops 9kgs from that run. Should be able to sit in behind the speed and hopefully get clear room in the straight. Will prove hard to beat.
FARNLEY STAKES
Hard to find any reason why TRIPLE JAY can’t win again and put up five wins in a row. Drawn ideally in one, he can lead or take the sit and only needs clear room in the straight if he’s not in front already, to show them a clean pair of hooves and win again.
