Best Bets – Saturday 3rd May

IMMEDIACY looked good winning second-up at Mornington over this trip. From the soft draw and Blake Shinn aboard, he should be able to camp just off them and he should prove very hard to hold off over final stages. 

Thinking PRIDE OF JENNI will bounce back after a disappointing run in the Australian Cup last start. She showed at her previous run that she likes the Caulfield circuit and she should be able to bowl along and despite big weight she will take some catching from the corner.

FILTHY HABITS looks one of the better bets of the day. Last start he bolted in at Albany by nearly 5 lengths and he has never missed a place over this trip. Generally races on speed and dictates the pace, so look for him to jump in front and kick clear on straightening for home.

Liked the way WONDER BOY kept fighting to the line last time out, winning the Bendigo Guineas over Kalkallo. He is a versatile gelding who can race on speed or back in the field. Jamie Mott knows him well and I’m sure he will give him every opportunity to put two together.

Really like LADY LAGUNA here in The Victory Stakes. She is third-up in this after a solid placing at Randwick last time when she had to do plenty of work up on speed. I like her when she gets cover and if she has right run, she should take plenty of holding out.
