Best Bets – Saturday 31st August

Should be plenty of pace on here with Pride Of Jenni and Gentleman Roy in the race. I’m hoping the Queenslander ANTINO can get a cold sit throughout on these leaders and we know he will be strong to the line. He has won four out of five first-up runs and always produces fresh. A great each way play.

Will be having something at odds on COMRADE ROSA. Generally races well fresh and seems to have found a nice race to kick off her southern campaign. Usually takes a sit in behind the speed and with Mark Zahra on board, let’s hope he can steer a path from the corner and run them down last 200m.

VIMINELE is third-up from a spell and should be nearing peak fitness. Worked home well from the tail of the field last start behind Rockribbed and from the low draw may not get as far back this time around. Does look like the one they will have to beat.

BRERETON looks well placed in this field and should get the run of the race throughout. Gets in well with only 53kgs and has the in form Angela Jones on board. He will look the winner at some stage in the straight and hopefully we can finish the program with a winner.

GINNIVAN has been flying of late. He should find the lead with ease and if he is able to dictate the terms of the race over the 1000m scamper he should win again. Been in fine form of late and looks one of the better bets on the day.
