Best Bets – Saturday 27th July

RATING 66+

Belmont Park Race 6 (1600m) 5:00 pm

FLURO NEURO looks extremely hard to beat here. He won a similar race two starts back and although goes up 2.5kgs for that win he looks the one to beat again. Although he has never raced over the mile, the trips certainly does look to suit. Appears to be one of the better bets on today’s card.

BLETCHINGLY STAKES

Caulfield Race 7 (1200m) 3:50 pm

Coming off that brilliant victory in the Sir John Monash a fortnight ago, it is hard to go past RECOMMENDATION to win this edition of the Bletchingly Stakes. Looks to have come back in fine fashion as was shown racing away from his opposition last start and it is hard to see any of these turning the tables.

BM100 HANDICAP

Caulfield Race 8 (1600m) 4:25 pm

No reason why JIMMY THE BEAR cannot put two together here after winning the Mildura Cup last time out. He looks well placed and has impressive track and distance stats. In what looks an open race he offers nice each way value.

3YO C&G HANDICAP

Doomben Race 7 (1200m) 3:42 pm

INVINCIBLE SHIELD found plenty last time out when pulling clear at the business end to win by just under 2 lengths. Does go up in weight for this but he should find the lead and the 1200m does not look to pose any issue for him. Look for this fella to keep that picket fence going.

NO METRO WINS HCP

Doomben Race 9 (1200m) 4:50 pm

At a nice each way price, looks nice race for BEAUX RUMBLE from the favorable barrier draw. Will be much fitter being third-up from spell and Michael Rodd retains the ride. Can see him getting a nice sit throughout and if the breaks go his way in the run home, should prove hard to hold off.
