Best Bets – Saturday 21st September

PERICLES was very impressive winning last time out at The Valley when sat on speed and raced away for the victory. Steps up now into a Group 1 race and draws wide here but with Blake Shinn on board, the way he went last time I see no reason why he doesn’t put these away at the corner and win again.

ANGEL CAPITAL came with a withering run to loop the field from last to win the McKenzie Stakes at The Valley last start. That was his first run after spending the winter up north and he looks to have come back a very nice type. From the draw he should be able to find his feet early and be in range on straightening. Look for him to be able to produce that burst of speed and run over them for the win.

PLUNDERING won easily last time out at Doomben for us and feel we should butter up again with him here. Stays at the same weight and although up slightly in grade here, he should get a perfect trip in behind the speed and only needs luck on turning for home to show them a clean pair of heels at the line.

Will be having something each way on IVERSON here in the last. At his first-up run, got back to second last in the run and worked home stylishly going down by under 2 lengths at the finish. With a better cart into the race this time, look for him to be strong at the finish and is good value to finish off our day.
