Do feel as though GOLDENSTATEWARRIOR is ready to win again. It was a strong effort last start at Flemington to run third behind Muktamil. He comes into this at peak fitness and third-up looks nice each way value.
DAVID BOURKE HANDICAP
JIMMY THE BEAR looks extremely hard to beat. He got way too far back last time and ran home well for second to Oh Too Good. Third-up here, drawn much better and should be primed for another win this campaign.
IPSWICH CUP
DIABLO BOLT is now fitter after two runs back this time in and has got to a distance that seems quite favorable for him. From the low draw, he should get a nice run in behind the leaders and with a lightweight on his back, he could prove too strong for them in the Ipswich Cup.
EYE LINER STAKES
WARNIE found the line really nicely last time out at Eagle Farm in the Group 2 Moreton Cup behind Front Page. Drawn to be able to camp off the speed here, he should be able to get over them final 200m. Looks very hard to beat.
Rating 66+ Handicap
This race looks perfect for WESTERN EMPIRE to add another Group race to his list. He came from well back and only got there at the last stride to win the Hyperion here over a mile a fortnight ago. Is his first time at the trip but is racing as though that won’t be too much of a concern.
