Best Bets – Saturday 19th April

Like the look of SNEAKY SUNRISE here in the Guineas. Although drawn off the track, she usually gets back in her races and looks well suited to the mile of this race. Only needs an ounce of luck early and she should take some holding off at the business end.

The run of JUST FINE last time out was super, going down narrowly to Ceolwulf in the Sellwood at Rosehill. Should get a nice run here up on speed and with the small straight at Mornington, we could see him going for home early and trying to hold them off at the wire.

Although finishing 9th last time out, I’m tipping OSCAR’S FORTUNE on top. He was only beaten 3.5 lengths last time down the straight and I feel he is a better horse around a bend. Look for him to settle just behind them in the run and be the one powering home late.

Will have a throw at the stumps in the sprint in going with NETTUNO on an each-way basis. This guy has a good fresh record and generally takes a sit and runs home powerfully. From the draw he should get a nice trail and at the price is worth an each-way play.

SAIL SESSION certainly looks the horse to beat here in the WATC Derby this year. He has taken all before him over the past few weeks winning everything and again put them away in The Melvista last time out. From the draw, Lucy Fiore can put him where she likes and only needs open air on straightening to prove the one to beat.
