GRAFTERBURNERS got along way back last time in the Sires when running home well behind Cool Archie whom he meets again here. From the better draw and Craig Williams aboard this time, look for him to be able to turn the tables on him.

Going to have an absolute throw at the stumps in the Stradbroke this year. The favorite is short enough and will be hard to beat, but I’ve found one in PAYLINE at big odds. He was only beaten half length by Sunshine In Paris two runs back and then kept on well last week behind Joliestar. Is worth an each-way at big odds.

Been over two years since KOVALICA ventured back into the winners stall, the last time being when he won the 2023 Queensland  Derby. He has run plenty of fantastic races in that time, placings in many Group 2s and a last start 3rd in the Doomben Cup. If he has any sort of luck in the run, he should prove extremely hard to hold out.

DIRTY GRIN ran home solidly from back of the field at Caulfield last time out to go down narrowly on the line. Looks well suited to the 1400m of this race and has the long straight at Hillside to be able to go through the gears and pick them up. Looks the one to beat.

SABAN last start at Hillside he showed a fine turn of hoof when ran home powerfully from the tail of the field and then fought on gamely to hold off Sayedaty Sadaty when he kept on fighting on. He will be even fitter here and should take some stopping.
