VOBIS GOLD HEATH
JIMMY THE BEAR looks extremely hard to beat in this 2000m event after his big win in The Winter Championship at Flemington last weekend. Although he has not ticked the distance box as yet, he should get a gun run from the draw and be given every opportunity to run it out by Billy Egan. Does seem to be one of the better bets of the day.
SIR JOHN MONASH STAKES
IN FLIGHT is a four-year-old mare on the rise and looks very well suited after a brief freshen up. She has won her past two runs in Listed company at Doomben and Randwick and a trial at Kembla Grange 10 days ago. She has a big chance here to add the Group 3 Sir John Monash to her growing CV.
CLASS 6 HANDICAP
TUFF TU MUS is chasing six straight victories \today. Last start he sprinted clear to win well \over 1350m and the way he races, I feel the mile will suit him perfectly. Had a tick over trial a week ago and ran home solidly without doing a great deal. Should prove hard to beat.
BM90 HANDICAP
AMUR won just over a year ago first-up at $41 and does possess a good fresh record. Last time in, he finished 2 lengths off them at Flemington over the spring carnival and then not far away at Newcastle in a BM94. Will likely get back in the field but does have a nice quicken on him and at the double figure odds, is worth having a dollar or two each way on him.
BM72+ HANDICAP
SUPERSESSION has had no luck this time in, getting back in the field from wide draws and held up at some of his recent efforts. From the low draw, I am hoping he can get in behind the speed and can run over the top of them if he can get clear air on straightening for home. If he does, he should prove too strong for them.
