Best Bets – Saturday 10th May

Will be having something each way on GOLDENSTATEWARRIOR in the 2000m race at Caulfield. Although short of his best distance, he has had a freshen up since finishing fourth in the Adelaide Cup and from the low draw, should get good cover throughout and look for him to be running on hard at the business end.

WAR MACHINE was just pipped on the post last time in the Hareeba Stakes at Mornington. Although drawn off the track, he should get cover down the side of the track and should prove too strong for them once they balance up for home. Happy to have something each way.

TOROPA came back from a spell in fine fashion running all over them late to win well this track last time. She will be fitter for that run and from the low draw, she should camp just off the expected speed and prove far too good for them again.

EMIRATE with James McDonald on board should take a power of beating here in the Guineas. He hasn’t raced since the Spring where he finished just behind Traffic Warden and Broadsiding in Group 1 & 2 races. Had a very soft trial leading into this and should look the winner at some stage.

Like BUCKAROO being third-up this time in, he is primed to get back into the winners list in the Hollindale Cup. He won the Underwood Stakes third-up last prep, before running 2nd in the Caulfield Cup. Look for him to be running home all over them and proving too strong for them last 200m.
